Classic balance typifies this refreshingly soft, yet dry wine. The wine delivers complex apple and pear characteristics accented by citrus spice over notes of almond and caramel in the bouquet. When you taste Brut Classic, look for nutty flavors with hints of brioche that build to a refreshingly dry finish

Size: 750 Ml. Elegant and fruity at the same time with a quick invitation from bright, pure cherryish notes and then filled out handsomely by whiffs of chalky soils and well-integrated, rich and uplifting yeast-driven scents, this wine manages to be both vigorous and layered at one and the same time. Its bubbles are insistent, finely carved and add to the early sensations of lightness and energy yet also carry the wine long into a balanced, refined finish. And its latter palate grip is exactly what one should expect from the genre. While service with light foods would be our first choice, this one has the beauty to stand alone

Size: 750 Ml. Drawing on fruit from the Côte des Blancs, this wine is concentrated and still young. Density comes from the strong minerality that is balanced by a lemon flavor. Textured and taut, this wine needs time in the cellar

Cru: Premier Cru. Size: 750 Ml. In the glass, the "Grand Cellier" is a brilliant straw-gold in the glass, with an assertive nose of yellow apple, pear, nectarine, baking spices, fresh ginger, and a hint of dried herbs. The texture is opulent but focused and mineral, with a satisfying, lip-smacking savor of crushed stone minerality and a hint of wood smoke. It should be immediately evident that this wine will age for 10-20 years with ease, its multi-layered flavored propped up on a solid foundation of minerality and acid. If you're drinking it now, let it out of the constraints of the ice bucket to allow its aromas to blossom (45 degrees is a good temperature to aim for), and use larger white (or red) wine glasses to showcase its 'vinousness'

Inspired by the idea that less is more, this wine is more minerality-driven than fruit-driven. Not grassy or overly ripe, it features delicate fruit flavors and steely, mineral notes that call to mind a first summer rain. Our grapes come from two family vineyards, and we harvest the fruit at just the right moment to achieve a balance of firm acidity and low alcohol

Château Teyssier is a St Emilion Grand Cru located in Vignonet, one of five St Emilion communes. The property has a long history of wine production, going back as far as 1714 when it was little more than a farm. In 1869 the property was purchased by the historian Jules Roy, who constructed a grand Château and developed the surrounding vineyards. From then on little had changed until Jonathan and Lyn Maltus purchased the property in 1994.

The wine delivers complex apple and pear characteristics accented by citrus spice over notes of almond and caramel in the bouquet. When you taste Brut Classic, look for nutty flavors with hints of brioche that build to a refreshingly dry finish

Varietal: Champagne Blend. Layers of artisanal bread, apple, pear and mineral notes.

Glistening color with light amber highlights, indicating a year of very fine ripeness. Soft, almost timid bubbles, in a fine, slow and steady flow. There is a rich bouquet with confit fruit (lemon, orange), white flowers (lilies) and lightly roasted nuts (hazelnuts and almonds). On airing, the dominant fruitiness becomes intense, almost explosive: a sabayon of vine peaches, apricots, melon and mango. The mouth features a rounded, complex ballet of fruit. The texture is incredibly concentrated, giving the impression of biting into a ripe, fleshy fruit. The palate is enveloped by this depth of juicy, creamy, silky fruit, which soon makes way for a pure, sharp, graceful freshness. A transition follows from ripe fruit to a clear, light, delicate environment. Ripeness, softness and concentration arise from freshness and mineral quality, transforming the ripe fruit into a slightly sharp citrus flavor; the warmer notes make way for flowers, citrus zests and nuts. After this rapid succession of flavors, there is a lasting impression of harmony: the aromas, flavors, slight bitterness and freshness come in just the right proportions, intermingling to form a perfectly integrated yet complex whole. A few hints of tatin tart and Danish pastries add a final touch to the already complex range of aromas. Blend: 55 Pinot Noir, 45 Chardonnay

A deeply intense full bodied palate, inflections of hazelnut and dried berries, graceful acidity and a sustained fresh, citrus finish, this is the epitome of elegance and style.

Salon is located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côtes des Blancs. The core of Salon emerges from a small vineyard that sits right behind the house. Salon is done entirely in steel, with no malolactic fermentation, one of the reasons the wines need extended time in bottle prior to release, and in most cases, several years on the cork before they start drinking well. In vintages in which Salon is not made, the fruit goes into Delamotte, Salon's sister estate and neighbour. The Delamotte style is less severe, as malolactic fermentation is employed to give the wines softer contours and more immediate breadth

Varietal: Champagne Blend

Varietal: Chardonnay. Sub-Region: North Coast. 2016 was a relatively smooth year that unfolded at a steady pace and with mild temperatures. While we didn't have many exceptionally hot days, it was one of the earlier harvests on our record. Flowering and fruit set beautifully and yields were above normal, which was a nice change from previous years. We harvested our first grapes in mid-August, and had picked about 25 of our Pinot Noir and then a sudden cool spell arrived. This allowed cooler climate vineyards that had yet to be harvested to remain on the vine longer and develop deep and expressive flavors. The berries were smaller and heartier than normal which resulted in great depth of color and structure

Sub-Region: North Coast. Comprised of 100 Cabernet Sauvignon, our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from grapes grown on our estate hillside vineyards (30) in conjunction with grapes from other mature, high-quality, low-yielding Napa Valley Cabernet vineyards located on the valley floor. We've found the resulting blend to produce a wine that displays a broad spectrum of aromas, flavors, and textures that Cabernet can show in the Napa Valley. According to Nick, it is the cool, coastal Langhorne Creek climate that gives the reds this lift. Hot northerly winds from the centre of the continent are blocked by the Mt Lofty Ranges to the north of Langhorne Creek. And every day at 5 pm in comes a cool "Lake Doctor" wind from the Southern Ocean, that slows ripening, preserves acidity and amplifies the fruit and savoury aromatics. As do the cooler fermentation techniques employed by Ben Glaetzer. And to me, that is the real key, an aromatic not all that different from other Aussie regions in terms of profile, but just a bit more piquant and fragrant

Varietal: Shiraz. Very deep crimson with purple hues. Aromas of rich dark cherries, Satsuma plum and mulberry fruits jump out of the glass, mingling with fine milk chocolate, white pepper and cinnamon. A blockbuster effort, the 2003 Shiraz The Freedom is produced from some of the estate's oldest dry farmed vineyards (some dating back to 1843). Aged two months in new French hogsheads and smaller barrels, this is a full-throttle, high velocity, inky/purple-hued Shiraz boasting gorgeous aromas of creosote, blackberry liqueur, melted licorice, tar, and pepper. Varietal: Shiraz. Sub-Region: Mclaren Vale. The inky/blue/black/purple-colored 2001 Shiraz Astralis boasts an extraordinary bouquet of graphite blackberry liqueur espresso acacia flowers and licorice. Fabulously concentrated with a presence on the palate that must be tasted to be believed it possesses beautifully integrated tannin as well as enormous weight and richness but it is not over the top. Bratasiuk calls it his "Guigal Cote Rotie La Turque" and he's not far off. The Astralis is just denser and even more extracted.I have been a believer in Bratasiuk's top Shiraz cuvee Astralis since the first vintage. Made from 70-75-year old non-irrigated "bush" vines (head-pruned) this 600-700 case cuvee sees 100 new French oak and generally requires 4-8 years of cellaring. RP

Varietal: Shiraz. The 2010 Grange arrives with much expectation and does not disappoint. This is a powerhouse, structurally superior to both the 2009 and 2008 vintages and breathtakingly dense, long and precise. The nose has cola, blackberry, vanillin, hard brown spices of all kinds, coal smoke, meaty charcuterie elements and a strong tarry, savory note that speaks of the 85 Barossa Valley componentry. The palate has super deep tannins that fan out through flavorsome black fruits. These are purposeful tannins; they bristle on the palate, tantalizing and assertive yet playful, strong not aggressive. The power here is the thing; this has mouth-coating density and terrific drive, so tightly coiled, it gives enough away to suggest a very, very long cellaring wine is here. This is a classic Grange that will please the serious collectors. A wine of genuine pedigree.

Chateau MontroseChâteau Montrose is one of the leading wine properties of St.Estéphe, and produces some of the longest-lived wines in the Médoc. Montrose had been owned by Jean-Louis Charmolue from 1962 until 2006, when it was sold to Martin and Olivier Bouygues, owner of the eponymously named construction firm Bouygues, is located in the east of the appellation, just north of the hamlet of Marbuzet, on a gravel knoll only 800 metres from the Gironde estuary. The proximity of the estuary ensures a microclimate that protects against frost, and the vines, which lie on deep clay-gravel soils, benefit from a south-easterly aspect.Montrose's wine is typically a blend of 65 Cabernet Sauvignon, 25 Merlot and 10 Cabernet Franc and is matured in oak barriques (30 new) for 18 months

The haunting aromas of wet rocks, spring flowers, blue and black fruits and forest floor are followed by an incredibly dense, attractive wine with sweet tannin, stunning concentration and texture, medium body and a depth that is essentially unreal in a vintage such as this. The wine is a superb example of great winemaking under the most difficult circumstances

The 48 hectare vineyard of Chateau Haut Brion is planted to 48.7 Merlot, 39.6 Cabernet Sauvignon, 10.7 Cabernet Franc and 1 Petit Verdot for the red wine grapes. This shows decrease in the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc plantings and an increase of Merlot in the vineyard since the mid 1990's. 2.9 hectares of vines have been reserved for the planting of white Bordeaux wine varietals. For the production of Chateau Haut Brion Blanc, the vineyard is planted to 51.5 Semillon and 48.5 Sauvignon Blanc. Although there is a small quantity of Sauvignon Gris planted in the vineyard as well. This shows a marked increase in the amount of Sauvignon Blanc in the vineyard. For the white wine grapes of Haut Brion, the vines are planted in a terroir that is gravel over clay soils. The vineyard is quite close to the city center of Bordeaux, as the city is only 5 kilometers away, give or take. The terroir is deep gravel over clay and sand with a wide variety of minerals and quartz in the soils. The vineyards are well placed on gravel slopes that reach up to 27 meters at their peak elevations. The gravel at Haut Brion runs extremely deep. In some parts, the gravel can be as deep as 18 meters. At Haut Brion, the clay soils play a vital role, hence the large percentage of Merlot in the vineyards. This wine is classified as an IGT Toscana, made from 100 Sangiovese Grosso; it starts as a Brunello di Montalcino and is then "declassified" and ages 14 months in French Allier-Vosge oak medium-toasted barriques, a third of which are new. 1988 saw the unveiling of the first bottle of Roccato. This wine, conceived and willed into being by Italo and Sergio and based on equal parts of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, represents the essence of the path undertaken by the winery itself. Indeed, like Rocca delle Macìe, which started out from the tradition of Chianti Classico and has since opened up to innovation without ever forgetting its origins, Roccato represents the encounter of the most typical roots of Sangiovese with the modernity symbolized by Cabernet and by the barriques used for the aging process. A mouth-filling, velvety wine that is rich in aromas of blackberry, plum and licorice, Roccato has a good mineral component and a tannic structure that is capable of supporting long-term aging.

As it is every year, the 2012 Flaccianello della Pieve represents a selection of the best fruit from the best vineyards (excluding, of course, Vigna del Sorbo that is dedicated to its own wine). The five parcels span various soils types and exposures, and the youngest vines are 20 years old. Because the fruit selection process is so detailed, the darkest and smallest clusters are carefully chosen. As a result, the fruit is rich in polyphenols, thick extract and extra aromatic intensity. The 2012 vintage saw yields reduced by as much as 20, meaning that fruit selection was even more severe in this vintage. Varietal: Corvina Blend. About the name "Marne 180": Marne means marl, the variety of soil on which we've planted our vineyards; 180 are the degrees of exposure of our vineyards, from south-west to south-east. This wine is made from grapes harvested in various vineyards located on hills in the Valpolicella area (Mezzane and Tregnago hills). Different sources and different grape varieties are important to obtain a well-balanced wine with the fine structure that only a few single areas in the Valpolicella zone can provide

Not a powerhouse, but this racehorse should go the distance.

Varietal: Corvina Blend. The 2003 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is a wine that aptly honors the legacy of its maker. The vintage was super hot, but careful cluster selection before appassimento means you never feel that extra warmth. In fact, this wine is exceptionally balanced and polished. It lasts many long minutes thanks to enduring notes of polished stone, candied berry, balsam spice and medicinal herb. They enlighten the palate like the golden streak of a comet on a midnight sky. RP

Varietal: Corvina Blend. The 2004 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is insanely beautiful. A dark, mysterious beauty, the 2004 hits the palate with masses of black fruit, tobacco, smoke, licorice and incense. The 2004 is constantly changing in the glass, as it reveals layer after layer of flavor and pure nuance. Readers will have to be patient with the 2004, but it is spectacular. I tasted the 2004 just after bottling and will not be surprised if it is even better with more time in bottle. The huge, voluptuous finish bodes well for the future. Readers who can find the 2004 should not hesitate. AG

Varietal: Corvina Blend. Swaddling the palate with slowly unfolding layers, this 09 Amarone drinks like a master class in winemaking. Rich, concentrated berries, dried cherries and plums rest on a brooding framework of Asian spices, mushrooms, tar, earth, mocha and wildflowers in this classic broad-shouldered Amarone. Decadent and rich, this 09 illustrates the kind of beauty that a master can wrest from a really nice growing year. A blend of Corvina (60), Rondinella (20), Croatina (10), and Oselata (10), this wine is made in the traditional appassimento style--the grapes are spread on straw mats for three months to drain them of their water and concentrate their sugar. Then the grapes are crushed and fermented in a stainless steel vat for fifteen days during which the cap is submerged with rigorous frequency, and aged in new French oak barriques for 36 months then in the bottle for 24 months more. Dal Forno's Amarone well deserves its reputation as one of Italy's best wines

Since 1978 Terredora has been a key player in Campania's viticultural renaissance. Combining experience and tradition, Terredora has introduced in its own historic, indigenous vineyards modern innovations, technical knowledge, and a team dedicated to respecting and promoting the return to traditional viticulture, a most qualified tradition. In Campania the history of men is intimately linked to vines; Terredora Di Paolo's commitment is filling the glass with the taste of this fascinating and generous land, thanks to the benefits of volcanoes and the sun. After World War II, Walter Mastroberardino, a resolute southern man who is now at the head of Terredora Di Paolo, began to carry his bottles around Italy, starting from Milan. In 1994 a chapter of his life ended and, at sixty years old, when people usually retire, he started a new journey with his children Daniela, Lucio and Paolo, and the support of his wife, Dora Di Paolo. It was not by chance that his new company has taken the name of his wife, a quiet but active woman. The cellar was built in Montefusco to vinify the grapes of the family estate, which dates back to 1978 when Irpinia was characterized predominantly by its wildness. The family has always had the direct control of all stages of production, thus ensuring overall quality and guaranteeing continuous improvements year after year. Terredora Di Paolo has a twenty five- year story of success that has also, sadly, seen the passing of Dora and the early death, in 2013, of Lucio, the family winemaker. Lucio was just a boy when he started his career, and in 2006 he quickly rose to fame, gaining attention in London for his nomination as "Winemaker of the Year" in the white wines category at the " International Wine Challenge." Typical of a wise man, who has gone through many storms and has never been defeated, Walter Mastroberardino decided that, in time of sorrows, the family must be at the forefront, facing the challenges of starting a new stage. The story of Terredora Di Paolo is the portrait of Walter a

Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida is a red wine made by La Granja de Remelluri winery in D.O. La Rioja. It is a coupage of typical varieties: La Rioja Tempranillo, Grenache and Graciano. Like its name indicates, the grapes are grown on the boarders of La Granja, neighbouring estates with La Granja in the town of Labastida. The grapes are carried to the winery by some of the best wine producers in the town. The vines are planted in poor soil. Both new and used 225-litre French and American oak barrels and 8.500-litre vats are used for a long and complex process for perhaps, the wine which has evolved the most in the last few years. Valbuena 5º presents its splendor in each vintage and a direct view of the greatness of its soil, where 140 hectares of land are dedicated to this wine; weather conditions each year make a distinction on the vintage. Thanks to the extraordinary job in the vineyard and a second year ageing in tanks, today Valbuena 5º 2013 is vibrant and rich

Varietal: Carignan Blend. The idea of La Vinya del Vuit was born almost ten years ago when René Barbier sat down with his cousin one 'crazy night' and brainstormed wine projects. René, who runs Clos Mogador along with his namesake, who also happens to be his father, wanted to do something on his own with Sara Pérez and he decided that the wine would be named after a number. When morning came and he could see his idea with sober eyes, he and Sarah agreed to invite three friends each to participate in the Priorat project, which would result in La Vinya del Vuit, 'The Vineyard of the Eight'. The idea was to invite people who were not too involved in the wine world in order to open their eyes and spread a love for wine through them. After all was said and done, they bought a vineyard together, with 12 ownership each. And this was not just any old vineyard; rather it was an abandoned, overgrown plot, where every weekend of the first year was spent finding and cleaning the old grapevines, which would later yield the approximately 2,000 bottles produced each year

Varietal: Grenache. Deep, bright-rimmed ruby. High-pitched redcurrant and wild strawberry aromas, with delicate floral and mineral notes gaining strength with air. Varietal: Cabernet Blend. Such were the tricky conditions in '02 that the normal 20 Sangiovese element was omitted to leave a predominantly Cabernet wine. A blend from all five Graham quintas - Malvedos and Tua, Vila Velha, Lages in the Rio Torto and Vale de Malhadas in the Douro Superior - opulent in the Graham's style, very rich with liquorice concentration, finishes beautifully.

Blackberries, licorice, and melted asphalt stand out in this full-bodied, beautifully made vintage port's moderately intense bouquet. It is not one of the great Graham's ports, and is less sweet than normal, but it is full-bodied, rich, concentrated, and impressive. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2025.

In a port tasting, tasting Graham's is almost like tasting a big, rich, succulent Merlot after a group of blockbuster, tannic Cabernets. Sweeter and more obvious than many ports, the opaque purple-colored 1994 is fruity, powerful, and rich, with an addictive hedonistic quality.

This is a very muscular, powerful and age-worthy Vintage. It has exceptional balance and structure, and is intensely aromatic and full-bodied on the palate. On the palate, the wine is concentrated, powerful, and full-bodied with layers of fruit. It finishes sweeter than some of the other ports with a great deal of tannin

The extra dry Prosecco FIOL shows a light straw color, a typical bouquet reminiscent of wisteria flowers, acacia and also mature crab apple. With a shrewdly contained alcohol, acidity, lively but not overbearing it delivers freshness and palatability, savory and a slightly sweeter taste, contributing even more to preserve that character so appealing and inviting
