This is a role from the performance of One Piece, where I had the pleasure of having Jinbe drawn for me. The quality of this drawing, done without reference, is amazing!! On September 23, when I visited the restaurant, I also had an original illustration of Chinsuko drawn for me. The illustrations are incredibly well done!!

The name is 'Shishi' (originally from the Sanskrit word for lion, 'Singha'), pronounced in Okinawan dialect. In the Yaeyama Islands, it is also called 'Shishi'. Like the Sphinx and the Chinese stone lions (refer to Imperial guardian lions), as well as the komainu of mainland Japan, its origins are said to trace back to the lions of ancient Orient. There is a theory that it represents a dog, but considering the deep connections with China and influences from the South, it is generally believed to be a lion, and there are cases where it is definitively stated as a lion based on its sound. According to 'Kyuyo', it began in 1689, when people suffering from frequent fires sought advice from a feng shui master, who attributed the cause to the influence of Mount Yaese and advised them to create a lion statue and place it facing the mountain to prevent fires. When the residents followed this advice and installed the shisa, fires ceased to occur. Notably, the shisa from this time still exists (see the section on 'The Oldest Shisa' below). Due to Buddhist influence, they are sometimes placed in pairs as A-un statues, and it is said that they are more often placed as pairs than as single statues. There is a distinction between male and female based on the differences in A-un, with each having its own role. Generally, the shisa with an open mouth is male and placed on the right side to invite good fortune, while the shisa with a closed mouth is female and placed on the left side to prevent any disasters from entering the home, although there is debate regarding the distinction of male and female based on mouth opening and closing. The practice of placing them on the roofs of houses began after the Meiji period when commoners were allowed to use tiled roofs. Before that, they were only installed at temples, castle gates, utaki (sacred places), noble tombs, and village entrances. The materials are typically stone or pottery (either unglazed or fired), and plaster, but in recent years, there are also concrete and bronze versions. The forms are not uniform and display a variety of expressions and postures.

The Kinjo Sanshin Workshop, founded by the late Mr. Kinjo Seichi, father of Mr. Kinjo Seichou, is located in a residential area of Matsuyama, Naha City. During his teenage years, Mr. Seichou felt uncertain about immediately starting a job while living as a student in Tokyo, and decided to travel alone to South America to see a broader world. During his six-month journey through Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador, he was moved by the sounds of folklore he heard in the city of Machu Picchu, Peru... At that moment, Mr. Seichou thought, 'There is a sanshin waiting for me when I return to Okinawa, I don't need to come all the way to South America.' He returned to Okinawa, inherited the path of sanshin and sanshin craftsmanship from Mr. Seichi, and has continued to this day. (For those interested in sanshin...) First, please take a look at the shop. Mr. Seichou is very friendly and speaks kindly, making it enjoyable to learn about sanshin. It's okay if you haven't decided to buy yet. There is a workspace for Mr. Seichou in a corner or separate area of the shop, and even if you can't see him from the front, he may be in the back, so please feel free to call out to him. Sometimes he may not be there, so it might be more reliable to call ahead before visiting. (If you wish to purchase) The price of a sanshin starts at 30,000 yen for those made with synthetic skin and 40,000 yen for those made with genuine leather, and you can have them tailored to your budget and preferences. Basically, you decide which type of sanshin you want in the shop, and then they will assemble it and stretch the skin based on your wishes, so it usually takes about 2 to 3 weeks to complete. I use the sanshin made by Mr. Seichou, and indeed, knowing the person who made it and hearing various stories before assembly makes a difference in the affection I have for the sanshin. They also ship outside the prefecture, so if you are from outside the prefecture, you can place an order during your trip and have the completed item delivered to you. While it is ideal to choose the sanshin after hearing an explanation in person, for those who cannot do that, it is also possible to place an order over the phone after discussing your budget. Many regular customers stop by the shop, and when welcomed by the teacher's smile, tea, and the atmosphere, you might find yourself relaxing and staying longer than planned. In a room next to the shop, Mr. Seichou's Wakasa Sanshin Dojo holds practice once a week. (Location) 1-19-9 Matsuyama, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture 900-0032 (Tel) 098-868-1525 (Fax) 098-866-5581 Closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Open from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Since childhood, she has won various awards for folk songs and has also released folk song records under her real name, 'Kaori Kouzai'. In 1982, she joined Taiyo Kobe Bank (now Mitsui Sumitomo Bank). However, her desire to sing grew stronger, leading her to leave the bank. She moved to Tokyo to become a singer and debuted as an enka singer in 1988 with 'Ame Sakaba'. She won several newcomer awards, including the 30th Japan Record Awards at the end of the same year, and the song became a long seller from 1989 to 1990. Ryukyu glass is a type of glass craft produced mainly on Okinawa Island in Okinawa Prefecture, including blown glass and other hot work techniques. It is sometimes referred to as 'Okinawa glass' or 'Ryukyu glass.' The 'Ryukyu glass' described here began after World War II due to resource shortages, starting from melting discarded Coca-Cola and beer bottles from American military bases. Overview: It is believed that glass products were introduced relatively early to the Okinawa region through trade with Asia. The manufacturing is said to have started in the mid-Meiji period. After the war, by melting various bottles, it resulted in thick red and green colors, and combined with the bubbles that mixed during the recycling process, it became a unique glass product. With the spread of refrigerators, there have been more opportunities to drink Awamori, a popular drink in Okinawa, on the rocks, leading to the use of wide-mouthed glass cups instead of traditional sake vessels called Karakara. As Okinawa became a tourist destination, this handmade feel and refreshing glassware that pairs well with Awamori caught the attention of tourists, leading to the popularity of 'Ryukyu glass.' Currently, due to the so-called Okinawa boom, the number of manufacturers and workshops has increased, each competing in skill, and production has begun not only from recycled bottles but also from new glass melting. New materials and methods are being incorporated, and the expression methods are becoming diverse, ranging from artistic works to gifts, while Ryukyu glass artisans have been recognized as 'modern master craftsmen,' increasing awareness of Okinawa's traditional crafts and regional brands. However, there have been cases where products from Vietnam were sold using expressions that could be confused with Ryukyu glass produced in Okinawa, which was pointed out by the Fair Trade Commission as improper labeling of the country of origin, leading to an exclusion order based on the Act against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations. This was due to the establishment of a local corporation in Vietnam for production, citing disadvantages in production capacity and costs in Okinawa, while training and developing local artisans. Furthermore, there have been issues with businesses ordering and importing imitation products from overseas manufacturers and selling them as if they were Ryukyu glass. Regarding these products, there is a tendency to interpret Ryukyu glass not as a regional product or craft but in a broader sense of manufacturing method.

One of the 'combination pitchers' characterized by his curveball. Although he was small at 174 cm, he threw dynamic fastballs in the 140 km/h range, along with curves, shoots, forks (which he named 'Thunderball' for his SFF), sliders, and slow straight balls (not change-ups). In his later years, he learned the change-up and never neglected research. He mixed his pitches depending on the batter and situation, accumulating 173 wins. In high school, he only threw curves, but after turning professional, he learned the shoot and gradually increased his pitch types, including the SFF. This gradual increase was based on the idea that it extends a pitcher's career rather than learning and throwing everything at once. He had two main types of curves: the relatively fast drop-type curve he threw during his prime and a slower curve that contributed to winning the 2002 ERA title, which he also threw during his later major league years. The latter curve was known by various names such as 'Rainbow', 'Rainbow Curve', and 'Sushi Ball'. While excelling as an ace in high school, he also had games where his batting average exceeded that of Kiyohara Kazuhiko, and he was well-regarded for his hitting even after turning professional. He won the Golden Glove Award eight times, showcasing his defensive skills (his eight awards as a pitcher tie him for the most in history alongside Nishimoto Kiyoshi). Despite his less-than-ideal physique as a pitcher, his ideal pitching form and sincere attitude towards baseball made him a role model for many professional athletes.
Influenced by his two older brothers, he started playing baseball from elementary school. He met Fumiya Hojo (currently with Hanshin) at Hamadera Boys, where he was a member in the 4th grade, and became teammates. He later moved to Junior Hawks and achieved national championship (summer and spring consecutive victories) as the ace in the 6th grade. In middle school, he formed a battery with Hojo at All Sayama Boys, and they produced many home runs together. In his 3rd year, he contributed to the team reaching the top four in the world tournament as a representative of the league. He hit a total of 65 home runs in middle school. Although he was set to advance to Tenri High School, he enrolled at Kousei Gakuin High School in Aomori Prefecture at Hojo's invitation. In his first year, when asked, 'Can you play left field?' he immediately replied, 'I can,' even though he had never played that position before, thinking he wouldn't be able to secure a regular spot otherwise. He established himself as a regular by hitting three home runs in one game against Sendai Ikuei in the autumn tournament. In his second year, he served as the cleanup hitter as a third baseman in the summer Koshien. From the autumn of the new team transition, he was converted to catcher. In his third year, he served as captain and contributed to the team's three consecutive Koshien tournament runner-up finishes as a key player. He was selected for the Japanese national team at the 25th AAA World Baseball Championship, marking a batting average over .300. Due to the intention of Coach Ogura to aim for a powerful batting lineup with the simultaneous participation of Tomoya Mori, a strong-hitting catcher one grade below him (who joined the Saitama Seibu Lions in 2014), he played third base in his second year and batted third in the lineup. He showcased excellent plays multiple times in games against Taiwan and demonstrated high adaptability by maintaining a stable batting average even with a wooden bat throughout the tournament. By the way, Tamura faced Osaka Toin High School, where Mori was enrolled, in the finals of the Koshien tournament in both spring and summer of his third year. He was drafted by Lotte in the third round on October 25, 2012.
He started playing baseball in the 4th grade of elementary school and was part of the All Sayama Boys during his time at Mikita Junior High School. He made the bench at Kosei Gakuin High School from his first year. In the summer of his second year, he participated in the 93rd National High School Baseball Championship, recording the team's highest tie of 8 RBIs, and the team finished as runners-up. He contributed to the victory in the Meiji Jingu Baseball Tournament with a batting average of .455, 1 home run, and 7 RBIs. In the match against Kamimura Gakuen High School, he hit the first-ever walk-off grand slam in the tournament's history. In the 94th National High School Baseball Championship, he excelled as the cleanup hitter, hitting 4 home runs in one tournament, just one short of the record set by Kazuhiro Kiyohara in the 67th tournament, and was referred to as
