✔️ Asakusa, Tokyo ✔️ Tatsumiya ------------------------------------------------------- A long-established hot pot restaurant where you can experience the downtown atmosphere. Tokyo Gourmet x Asakusa Lunch Tatumiya is a long-established restaurant that stands out just past the Asakusa shopping street. Established over 60 years ago, the restaurant has retained the atmosphere of those days while also operating as a nabe izakaya (hot pot restaurant), serving the same old taste of the past. The name "Tatamiya" is derived from the direction from Sensoji Temple, which is written "Tonan-ya," which means "south east" in Japanese, and "Tatumi-ya," which means "Tatsumi," in Japanese, in reference to the Chinese zodiac sign "Tatsumi. The restaurant serves Asakusa dozeyu, beef sukiyaki, and chibi-nabe, an Edo-style hot pot, as well as more than 80 kinds of sake at night, selected from the manager's selection! This time we visited for lunch. Table seating in the front and sunken kotatsu in the back with shoes removed There is also a sunken hearth table inside, which is very rare. I'm sure that not only domestic tourists but also foreigners who come to Asakusa, where there are many inbound tourists, will be very excited (OMG🤤). Even Japanese people have never seen anything like this before! On this day, there were only a few visitors, so I didn't have to worry about them and just snapped a few shots of various places. After waiting for about 10 minutes, a delicious-looking dish was served! Here is my recommendation! Sukiyaki set meal (¥1980) The main course is simple: a pot full of beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onions, etc. It was simmering hot, so hot that you couldn't help but let out a "Wow! I can't help but let out a "wow! I wish I could soak in this sukiyaki bath, I wish I could bathe in it all over, the broth alone looks so good! It tastes so good and has a retro atmosphere, but it's like stepping back in time...just like in the olden days! Anyway, the atmosphere is nice and the service is polite.
