Sansho

"Sanshōgohan" features rice blended with purple black rice, topped with a monthly main dish and local vegetable side dishes. You can enjoy dishes like oil-drenched chicken plates, fried chicken coated in sweet and spicy sauce, sake lees chiffon cake, whimsical cake, and sweet sake pudding, all made with sake lees and seasonal ingredients.

A calm space featuring traditional earthen floors, skylights, antique furniture, chabudai (low tables), and Japanese chests, with a variety of seating options from the earthen floor to the back room and counter seats. There are window-side seats where natural light streams in and vintage sofas, creating a nostalgic town house café where time flows slowly.

This town house was established as a sake brewery called 'Sansho' in the late Edo period. After going out of business in 1977, it was renovated while preserving as much of the original structure as possible and revived as a café. Inspired by a town house café the owner saw in Osaka, it incorporates vintage furniture and offers a menu that highlights the charm of the historical building along with local sake lees and ingredients.
