This is a Showa retro diner located a short walk from Kitakouji Station. Drawn in by the noren (fabric curtain) with a pig illustration, opening the door reveals a calm space that is comforting. Both the counter and tables are well arranged, and the chef's skillful handling of the dishes means they come out quickly, which is delightful. The classic katsudon (pork cutlet rice bowl) has a rich, creamy egg that soaks up the savory broth, making it hard to stop eating the rice. The crispy coating balances well with the light pork, making it perfect for both snacking and meals. The gentle-flavored udon and chilled dishes are also carefully prepared, allowing you to fully enjoy the warmth of a town diner.
