The atmosphere of the restaurant was clean and the counter was simple in design. The yuba dishes were common, but the biwa-style containers were lovely. Also, the shrimp kakiage was thinly sliced, light and crispy, and delicious. The way the saury was grilled and arranged was also ingenious. The steamed lotus root was a taste of autumn. The proprietress's hospitality was excellent, and she provided an enjoyable meal with a smile. The food was served in simple and lovely dishes, and the value for money was especially good.
Beer & Pasta Scherzo is a specialty restaurant where you can freely combine 19 types of pasta sauces with 6 types of fresh pasta noodles. Known for its pleasant service and cuisine, the chewy texture of the fresh pasta is particularly well-regarded. The selection of beers is also excellent, allowing you to enjoy them alongside your meal. With a wide variety of pasta types that are rare even in Kyoto, this restaurant offers new discoveries with every visit.
I happened to stop by when it was on Kitayama Street and became a big fan, and although I wanted to visit again, several years have passed. On my long-awaited return, I was surprised to find kakigori (shaved ice)! It was truly, truly delicious and I was so impressed! The cheese and strawberry sauce was refreshing, and I kept going with the spoon without getting a brain freeze, and chunks of cheesecake came out from inside, which made me very satisfied. The warm tea that came with it was also a lovely touch! I was very satisfied with the kakigori, but I couldn't resist and ended up eating the cheesecake too!
