Right next to the station, as I went up the stairs, I found a nostalgic atmosphere with a counter and window-side tables. The first dish that arrived was a platter of pickles with a gentle flavor, which immediately made me want to drink. While enjoying the freshly made koi koku and umani paired with local sake, I was surprised by the rich taste of miso and the fragrant aroma of sansho pepper that spread gently. The signature dish, motsu ni, was not greasy at all, leaving only the deep umami of Shinshu miso, making it hard to put down my chopsticks. The mushroom soba I ordered to finish was infused with the broth from several types of mushrooms, perfectly complementing the unevenly thick noodles. I think this is a diner where you can stop by casually during your travels and feel both your stomach and heart warmly satisfied.
