A Western-style restaurant in a retro space that has been preserved for three generations.
Mikage Kokaido, built in 1933, is a nationally registered tangible cultural property that has survived floods, war damage, and earthquakes. The classic Western-style restaurant in the basement of the Mikage Public Hall serves Western-style dishes prepared the same way they have been for the past 90 years.The most popular dish is the omelette hash based on a demi-glace sauce made by simmering chicken bones, beef bones, and aromatic vegetables for two weeks. This dish fills the mouth with the sweetness and deep richness of vegetables.
