il Pregio in Yoyogi Uehara
We had dinner at Il Pregio, an Italian restaurant in Yoyogi Uehara, which was awarded one star in the 2014 and 2015 editions of the Michelin Guide Tokyo.
From the small, pasta-lit restaurant, you can see the chef at work in the kitchen, and the sommelier is attentive to your needs. Without hesitation, we decided on a wine pairing here. We decided to enjoy everything on our own.
First of all, we were impressed by this sommelier's careful explanation. He explained both the dishes and the wines thoroughly, raising our expectations before we ate or drank. And the quality did not disappoint. From the first amuse, I was so impressed that I couldn't help but groan.
I will omit my impressions of each dish for the sake of those who will be going there in the future, but all of the dishes betrayed our expectations in a good way.
The course menu is as follows.
Inizio (2 amuses).
Capsicum of fresh onion/rice taegore, homemade mascarpone, fresh onion, ayu fish roe and Uruka.
Chickpea purée and soybean flour, sweet shrimp and sage oil.
Antipasti (3 appetizers)
Sautéed white asparagus with lactic acid fermented white asparagus emulsion
Lily root gnocchi with basil and basil
Pumpkin and foie gras, rich and light.
Primi Piatti (Pasta/Orzotto)
Tajarin - natural wild vegetables from the Shirakami Mountains.
Orzotto with firefly squid, pickled ginger, marjoram and artichoke purée.
Secondo Piatto (main dish)
Roasted Hokkaido veal with king shiitake crema and mustard seed accents. . Pre Dolce (Mouthfuls)
Cassatina (ricotta, celery, pine nuts)
Dolce (Dessert)
Pecorino cheese torta with thyme gelato
The main course was served and explained by Chef Iwatsubo himself.
I heard that the course changes every two months, so I would like to visit in June next time.
The best Italian food in Yoyogi Uehara!
Thank you very much for the food!

A native of Yukimura opened this April.
opened in April of this year.
The course was 12,000 yen or 15,000 yen, but we were told it was only 15,000 yen, perhaps because it was winter time. We were told that Matsuba crab could be added for 30,000 yen as an additional charge.
We ordered one bowl of Matsuba Crab, which was about 7,500 yen more per person than the price of Japanese food, which has been rising in recent years, since the price was in the 20,000 yen range including alcohol.
The restaurant is run in a house and the owner lives in the house twice, so perhaps this is one of the reasons why the prices are kept low.
The restaurant is open from January 02, although it is often closed in January.
Inspired by the free-thinking "IZAKAYA" culture that the owner encountered in Canada, a multinational culture, this dining bar is based on the concept of a dining table that transcends barriers of thought, religion, and culture. The menu features a variety of international cuisine, including vegan and gibier dishes. It is characterized by its flexibility in serving dishes that respond to the culture of foreign nationals. The menu is unique and full of individuality, and all the dishes are creative and excellent in taste and appearance. You can enjoy the unique cuisine in the stylish glass-walled restaurant.
Yoyogi Uehara Gatemo Tabun
#🇧🇹 Bhutanese cuisine for lunch!
Bhutan is a country that eats the most chili peppers in the world! It seems they recognize chili peppers as vegetables, and there were a lot of them in the dish! I was so impressed with the food!
The taste is somewhat familiar to the Japanese, except a little spicy.
The first picture is like simmered pork and daikon with a lot of chili pepper. LOL!
The second picture is like a cream stew with lots of cheese and chili peppers. LOL!
It's not that spicy, but I started to sweat while eating it. The power of chili peppers is amazing 👏🤣 but it is also very tasty and delicious. The side salad and soup were also very tasty. You can tell they are particular about their food!
I ate the giant chili on top 🌶 without thinking and it was surprisingly spicy and made my face, eyes, nose, and mouth water! LOL!
If you are a spicy food lover, you should definitely try the spicy menu... 😆I think there are more spicy food on the night menu👌.
