This set allows you to enjoy Niigata's famous sake "Koshino-Kanbai" and flavorful "Hegi-Soba" at the same time. The set also includes Niigata's local delicacy "Nokpe-jiru", tempura made from seasonal ingredients, sashimi, and other dishes. Please use this set for a casual drinking party with your business associates or friends. You can order at the restaurant on the day of your visit.
Soba served in small portions on a hegi (a wooden box) is called hegi soba. The hegi soba at Kongouan is a handmade delicacy that inherits the method of using nori (seaweed) as a binding agent, preserving the natural flavors of the sea and mountains. We source fresh soba daily from our main store in Niigata.
The dipping sauce, made by combining a broth from bonito and kelp with a special tare, enhances the fragrant flavor of bonito when paired with hegi soba.
For two servings: 1,600 yen (excluding tax) / For three servings: 2,400 yen (excluding tax) / For four servings: 3,200 yen (excluding tax). Tare Katsu, a B-class gourmet dish from Niigata City, is made with three pieces. Our Tare Katsu is prepared differently! We carefully pound and tenderize the fillet meat, coat it with fine dry breadcrumbs, and finish it in a healthy way to prevent it from absorbing too much oil. The key is to dip it in our homemade soy sauce-based tare! Be sure to taste the difference from the familiar tonkatsu!
The fried tofu from Tochio Sato Tofu Shop is about three times the size of the usual! This fried tofu, which is fluffy all the way through, is coated with white miso from Shibuya Shoten in Niigata, allowing the flavor to soak in. It is a delicious item grilled to perfection with natto and green onions. A popular dish that pairs perfectly with local sake or beer!
Rich in flavor and low in salt, making it a healthy choice.
We carefully select seasonal fish caught that day, such as blackthroat seaperch, yellowtail, amberjack, horse mackerel, and fresh bluefin tuna, all sourced from the waters off Sado Island.
