The Kawaguchi area has flourished as a fishing town since the Edo period, attracting many travelers. To entertain these travelers, fishermen served a dish made by wrapping river fish in arame (seaweed) in a triangular shape and simmering it, known as 'memaki.' The triangle represents Mount Fuji, and the toothpick symbolizes the Kongōzō (the climbing staff) used for climbing Mount Fuji.

This dish features specially made chewy noodles from a noodle shop in Tachikawa and a rare fragrant barley miso used in Tachikawa, making it a carefully crafted delicacy.
