■Gathering the traditional flavors of Uwajima, including 'Uwajima Tai Meshi' and 'Iyo Satsuma Meshi', this meal features local cuisine all in one bowl. The rice is freshly cooked in a 'kama' (pot). 'Iyo Satsuma Meshi' is prepared with one-third barley rice. Local dishes include Uwajima Jako Tempura, steamed sashimi, simmered fresh fish from Uwajima, chawanmushi (savory egg custard), clear soup, and fruit. *For the local rice, you can choose between the pot-cooked 'Uwajima Tai Meshi' or 'Iyo Satsuma Meshi & small bowl'.

This is a luxurious set where you can enjoy both Uwajima's rice dishes, 'Tai Meshi' and 'Satsuma Meshi', at once.

It is said to have originated from the pirates led by Fujiwara no Sumitomo, who were based on 'Hiburi Island' floating in the Uwakai Sea. After a drinking party, they would scoop rice into a bowl they had been drinking from and top it with slices of sea bream. This is a unique way of eating that uses fresh sea bream, which is rare even nationwide! This is Uwajima Tai Meshi!
