On that day, the airplane was unable to land at Kagoshima Airport and instead landed at Fukuoka Airport. I had to rush to take the Shinkansen to Kagoshima, and when I informed them that I would not make it in time for my reservation, they kindly changed the time for me and even offered gentle words to take care on my way. All the dishes I had were delicious, the atmosphere was great, and it was the best experience. It has become a restaurant I definitely want to visit again when I go to Kagoshima.

Kagoshima cab driver told me about Uma Tonkatsu Kurokatsutei. The top loin lunch was only 1,060 yen, and it was outstandingly good! I thought that salt goes well with really good meat! The menchikatsu I ordered separately was delicious!

It is quiet and comfortable, allowing for a leisurely experience. The seasoning of the dishes is exquisite, and the use of aromas is skillful. The herb-scented bread is impressive and hard to resist. The appetizers include soups and small plates of seafood, all meticulously prepared. The baked fish is fragrant, with tender flesh, making for a very happy feeling. The dessert is also well-balanced, and the combination with coffee can be enjoyed.

For dinner on a night of sightseeing in Kagoshima, We made a reservation for a weekday opening time and visited the restaurant. I was concerned about the peculiar smell of incense in the restaurant, which I had seen in other reviews, but it did not bother me during the meal after the restaurant was fully booked. It was acceptable. The clientele was mostly businessmen-male pairs and groups who seemed to be on business trips. The menu we ordered was a choice of grilled yam with salt, in addition to the famous momoyaki & chicken sashimi. All of them were fully flavored with the aroma of charcoal. The chicken sashimi goes well with sweet soy sauce. The amount of chicken sashimi is just right for snacks. The yam was a new experience with a hojicha-like aroma and a good salty taste that you won't find at other izakayas. I liked it. The grilled momoyaki was chewy and hearty, and even two people would find it a bit much, so be careful. We paid the bill as we were full after only 3 dishes. I think it is a good cosmetic restaurant. I am glad I visited.

The Kurobuta, of course, and even the zosui (rice porridge) at the end of the meal were very tasty, just as expected!
