The dish was an omakase course that brought the seasons to life. The warm cauliflower marinated with salmon roe and hon mirin matched the salmon roe and whetted our appetite. The combination of carrots and 2021 Camembert cheese was also exquisite. The black truffle and Koshihikari rice risotto was cooked to perfection. The fish dish of sea bream with abalone mushrooms and saffron was also delicious, and the Nanaya duck had a sauce that matched the berries. The acidity of the ponkan and sweet white sesame whipped cream were nice accents to the dessert. The natural yeast bread with Yumechikara and kefir yogurt was also fluffy and delicious.

There is also a variety of drinks available, including smoothies and coffee.
We had lunch (mini kaiseki) with friends at this restaurant two years ago, and today we came again to taste the mini kaiseki at Chōju. The restaurant's offerings, atmosphere, and service level are as excellent as ever, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other restaurants of the same standard. Although the mini kaiseki at Chōju does not use expensive ingredients, both the seafood and other ingredients are very fresh seasonal products, of top quality, and the flavors are very sophisticated. We will definitely come back often to enjoy it.

Despite being inside a hotel, it has a calm Japanese atmosphere that excites me. The chef at the counter is friendly and shares the details of each dish with me. The sashimi features many rare ingredients, all of which are rich in flavor and left me impressed. This restaurant is so popular that it is impossible to enter without a reservation, and the sake lineup is extensive. This time we enjoyed a premium portion of chateaubriand, which was tender and not greasy. There are also choices that are not listed on the sake menu, allowing you to enjoy a comparison of drinks. The restaurant is particular about pairing sake with yakiniku, making it a highly satisfying place to visit.

We recommend the Kakuni Pork Knead Lunch. The tender fatty meat and doughy pork cubes buns are a perfect combination. The spinach jade noodle soup is also a royal Chinese soup with concentrated flavor. Soybean meat and dried scallops with pepper are also well-received. You can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. Please visit us when you are sightseeing in Nara.
The chicken grilled over charcoal is fragrant and very satisfying. The fresh fat from the morning catch allows the flavors to come through strongly in the thighs and internal organs. The parent chicken has a firm texture, and the richness expands with each bite, making it enjoyable. The yakitori and seseri have thicker meat, and each chew brings happiness. You can choose from sauces like rock salt, sweet soy sauce, and ginger, and wasabi soy sauce pairs well with the lightly grilled breast meat. It's nice to relax in a tatami room with a sunken kotatsu while taking off your shoes, and the strong ventilation helps prevent lingering odors.
Lunch is delicious and a great value. The restaurant is spacious and we were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch without worrying about social distance. The staff was friendly and made us feel comfortable. The tea was also graciously refilled. Next time, I would definitely like to try the steak. If I have a chance to go nearby on business, I would like to stop by again.
