Grand rocher opened in Fushimi-cho, Chuo-ku, Osaka on April 2, 2017. Since then, the French restaurant has been highly acclaimed in the local area and has built a certain fan base, especially for its course meals and wine pairings. As the name "rocher" (rock/rock) suggests, the restaurant's cooking philosophy emphasizes the "backbone" and "texture" of the ingredients.

Chef Tsuchiya hails from the Kyoto Hotel Okura, where he garnered attention as one of the chefs representing Japan at the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2020 Asia Regional Competition in 2019. After retiring from Okura, he became the Executive Chef of this restaurant and its sister restaurants, where he uses his refined skills based on French cuisine and his unique sensibility to create gorgeous dishes that make the most of seasonal ingredients.
