Date and time of your visit: 1, 2019 Lunch

Inspired by a follower's post, I visited while I was in the neighborhood. I got off at Shinjuku-Gyoen station, turned down an alley, and found a huge line of more than 20 people waiting outside! （We decided to wait, even though we were on the first floor of a building with no sunlight (due to the location) and a cold wind was blowing. Chashu pork noodle soup with more green onions (950 yen + 50 yen) The green onions make it hard to see, but the sliced chashu pork is arranged so that it covers the noodle. I was aware that Kyoto's ramen = Tenka Ippin's "cottage industry" ramen, so this sent a little shockwave through my head. For better or worse, the ramen is not habit-forming, so I added black pepper in the middle and spicy miso toward the end, changing the flavor as I went along. It was delicious, but the flavor was not unique, and I did not feel the need to stand in line under the cold weather to eat it. If you are interested in this ramen but are having trouble finding a place to eat, it would be better to visit when the weather gets warmer, or when the boom has died down.
