You can't go wrong with a restaurant from Kyoto's leading Gojyusei Group. The gently seasoned potato salad, punchy heshiko oil, and half-boiled egg create an exquisite harmony. The famous Keiko tail stew falls apart in your mouth, and the tofu and konjak also soak up the flavor of the broth. The cold yellowtail is full of fat and is served with salt and sudachi (Japanese citrus juice) for a refreshing taste. Highballs, perfect for lunchtime drinking, are also available. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and the wife's soft-spoken service is wonderful.
