A line of home-style dishes served on platters lined up at the counter is a feast for the eyes. Yoshiki" has been in business for nearly 30 years and is run by a dignified proprietress and two women. The restaurant offers a taste that cannot be found at home, but it reminds one of one's mother's cooking and makes one happy and relaxed. The small restaurant, with a counter seating 10 and a table for four, is popular with men who want home-style cooking, as well as with those who come alone or on a casual Japanese dining date. The dishes prepared by the proprietress, who grew up in Tokyo, are not too sweet, and the soy sauce and soup stock are well-balanced to your liking. The sardine simmered in ume plum paste is exquisite. After simmering, the sardines are grilled to give them a nice shine and tension, and served with shiragane onion. The meat and potatoes stewed with shirataki, meat, and potatoes with skin, and bamboo shoots and butterbur cooked separately in the same broth, is a dish that is carefully cooked. And from a woman's point of view, the potatoes and other dishes that cannot be served in one bite are also served with a knife in bite-sized pieces. The dishes are also beautiful. Oribe ware is often used. There is no price on the menu, but it is usually within ￥6,000 per person for eating and drinking. This is a good place to go for a home-style meal.
