Chicken Restaurant Ichiju
3 minutes walk from JR Fukushima Station
Budget: ¥3,000-6,000
The thickest "seseri" (the first one) you've ever seen is so good, you'll never forget it. Other superb skewers such as "Mune Oroshi Ponzu" and fluffy "Tsukune" are also available for only 1,500 yen for 7 skewers.
Each skewer is so hearty that you can fill up on just one course. The relaxed atmosphere, with only counter seating around the grill, makes it easy for women and couples to visit.
The master is also a very handsome man!

There are also bird sashimi and all the skewers are delicious✨
The drinks are relatively varied!
The grilled rice balls that you can grill on a net were also exquisite.
You should definitely add the egg yolk✨

It was a restaurant with a location surrounding the kitchen, and the capacity of the shop was just right, creating a cozy atmosphere where one could enjoy a calm meal. Everything I had was delicious.

Reasonably priced yakitori that will fill you up with the 2,500 yen course. The well-researched cooking conditions are superb and sure to impress.
Chicken Restaurant Ichiju was listed as a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Kyoto/Osaka 2018. Opened in 2015 by the owner who came from Osaka's best yakitori restaurant "Ayamuya," it is a restaurant where you can enjoy quality yakitori at reasonable prices. We have experienced with our own tastebuds the reason for its strong popularity in the Fukushima area, which is said to be a fierce battleground for yakitori.

Appearance
Exit JR Fukushima Station to the north and walk along Seiten-dori for about 3 minutes. You will see a black signboard on your right. Turn right and you will see a stylish entrance. Despite being near Fukushima Station, there are few restaurants in the area, and the building is located in a secluded spot.
Interior
A cozy space with only 10 seats at the counter. The atmosphere is relaxed and homey, with active communication between the staff and customers. The live atmosphere where you can watch the grill is also nice.
Dishes
Omakase course B...¥2,500
Homemade Tofu
Rich homemade tofu served with salt instead of soy sauce. The creamy flavor is irresistible.
Four Kinds of Chicken Sashimi
Sasami, zuri, guts, and kokoro are served in small portions. As you can tell from the appearance, the freshness is extremely high. Fluffy wasabi, ginger, and three kinds of soy sauce to your liking.
Mune no Kizushi
A dish in which the surface of the meat is vinegared. It is served with wasabi and black soy sauce.
Mune (grated ponzu)
A skewer with a great impact suddenly appeared on the first course. It is very exciting. The rare grilling process gives the skewers a plump texture. The refreshing ponzu sauce with grated radish amplifies the flavor and is irresistibly delicious.
Hatsu (heart)
The excellent crunchiness of the meat, which is the result of the exquisite grilling process, is unforgettable. The more you bite into the resilient meat, the more flavor seeps out.
Zuri
You will surely be addicted to its unique crunchy texture. The small size makes it a perfect accompaniment to alcoholic beverages.
Harami
The juices burst in your mouth. I don't remember eating harami as yakitori very often... (Sorry if I am inexperienced). It is delicious. Even if it is not included in the course, you should definitely order it.
Negima
The elastic meat and the crunchy green onions are a wave attack that will make many people groan. The meat seems to be more rare than other parts.
Tsukune (with sauce)
The meat is so soft and fluffy that you are afraid it will fall apart. It is more like a "small hamburger steak" than a tsukune. It is a must order.
Back liver
This dish combines the unique flavor of internal organs with a bitter taste that goes well with sake. The back liver is the kidney of a chicken, and is a rare part that can only be obtained from a single chicken. Not many restaurants serve it.
This is the end of the course.
Here is the additional menu.
Mune (Wasabi) 200 yen
I could not forget the texture of the mune meat served at the beginning of the course, so I ordered it with wasabi this time. It was so delicious that it naturally brought a smile to my face.
Tsukune (Salt)200 yen
The Tsukune, which also left a deep impression on me, was next served with salt. The softness of the tsukune makes you want to eat it again and again....
Yakitori Donburi 680 yen
Finish off the meal with a bowl of rice topped with a large portion of yakitori. The homemade sauce plays the role of connecting the individual characteristics of the meat and the white rice. It is delicious.
●Drinks
Prices of alcoholic drinks are average.
Katano Sakura
Katano Sakura" has a sweet aroma of rice and a sour taste with a light sweet finish. Yakitori and sake go well together. There is also a wide variety of vintage wines, whiskeys, and shochu. This restaurant is also suitable for those who take their time over a long period of time.
Budget
Approx. 5,000 yen
Two beers and a glass of sake. I think I ate a little too much. I think I ate a little too much, but I was so full that I paid this price. The average price is probably lower than this because the course alone is quite large.
Ingredients
The red chicken we use is made from only morning-ground chicken. Red chickens are raised slowly for a relatively long period of time (about 60 to 80 days) and are highly regarded in the world's livestock markets for their high quality and delicious taste. The other thing you should pay attention to is how to eat it. In addition to salt, grated ponzu (Japanese citrus juice), and wasabi (Japanese horseradish), there are original tare (sauce) containing white soy sauce and dashi soy sauce. The meticulous attention to detail further enhances the appeal of the high-quality yakitori.
Impressions
The best thing about the yakitori is that it is grilled to perfection. I was impressed by the fact that I imagined that they must have studied the process to bring out the best flavor. Good taste, good atmosphere, and good cost performance. The level of satisfaction is extremely high. It has a lot of charms, and I am convinced that it is chosen as a "Bib Gourmand". It is the kind of restaurant that you will want to repeat and bring your friends to.

This was my first visit for dinner with a friend. It seemed to be a popular place, as it was fully booked even on a weekday after 6 PM. There were also several groups of regular customers. The restaurant is small, with only counter seating, but the space between the seats is not too cramped. We ordered a main set of seven skewers of grilled chicken and a few additional items. Both the food and drinks were reasonably priced and tasted good. Since the number of seats is limited, I think it's suitable for small groups, but if you want to enjoy a leisurely drink, it might be best to aim for a time after the first rush has subsided.
