A hideaway bar located a 10-minute walk from Sanjo Station. The bar is housed in a renovated townhouse from the early Showa period, with a modern design in the style of a Kyoto machiya (traditional townhouse). The interior of the bar is stylishly contrasted with the greenery of the courtyard. In addition to the counter, there are sofa seats and private rooms for a variety of situations. A quaint bar with a Kyoto-like atmosphere.

The machiya bar "k-ke" is very popular for its Kyoto-like atmosphere. The entrance is not easy to understand, but once inside, the high ceiling and courtyard in front of the bar, and the right-hand counter in front of the bar are overwhelmingly lined with bottles up to the ceiling. Kyoto gin and fruit cocktails are recommended. This is a must-visit place when traveling in Kyoto. Reservations are essential as there are always customers coming in.

The authentic bar in a Kyoto machiya house gave me fond memories of my student days. The single malt recommended by the master was outstanding. I was impressed by the service as well as the enthusiasm with which he trained his part-time workers, who seemed to be new to the bar. I would like to visit again.

ヴァレンタインデーが近かったためか、実にかわいらしいカクテルがサーブされていました。飲んでいませんが、女性陣には大うけしていたようです。

The bar is full of Kyoto atmosphere♪ It was a little hard to find as there is only a small signboard at the entrance, but it also has the feeling of seclusion♪ The tsuboniwa garden seen from inside the restaurant was lit up and looked wonderful!

It was my first time there. I ordered food (chocolate) and it took over an hour to come out. I had to wait 30 minutes for my bill. I will never go there again.
