There is an urban legend that if you eat it, you will get a promotion! Whenever I visit Osaka, I always stop by. I was scared that the main restaurant was closed for the Obon vacations, but I was glad to find that Bekkan, a 2-minute walk away, was open for business. I had the nikusuki (meat soup with tofu) and kodama (small rice balls). It is filled with tofu and beef in a broth favored by Kanto people. Kansai-style green part of green onion also adds a nice accent. Rice with egg is normal. I think it's because the meat soup alone lacks volume and carbohydrates. I've been eating the meat sucker for the past few years, and there seems to be an urban legend that if you eat it, you will rise in the world, so all I have to do is wait for my destiny?

Osaka Business Trip Meal Whenever I go to Osaka, I always visit Chitose. Since the main restaurant was closed on Tuesday, I went to Bekkan on the first floor of Namba Grand kagetsu, a few minutes away on foot. Meat sucking + small ball of rice I know this is too long ago to explain, but just for the record, nikusuke is "meat udon without udon noodles". It is made with beef and a half-boiled egg in udon soup. It's delicious, but it's not enough by itself, so we have kodama (small rice and raw egg). It tastes best if you eat them separately at first and when the remaining amount of TKG is about half, you in the sauce of the meat sucking and pour it all at once.
