We went to Omise, a cozy izakaya located on the first floor of a tenant building just south of JR Tenma Station. We were shown to a tatami room and toasted with Toribee (I had Tori-Oolong). Omise's recommendation was the suppon sashimi (880 yen). Suppon sashimi is rare, and the texture was unique and satisfying. The sardine kizushi (400 yen) was deliciously tight, and the Akashi fish paste chunks (600 yen) had a nice plump texture. The Kuroge Wagyu Seared Beef Liver (690 yen) was seared by myself with a gas burner. It has a fresh, fruity flavor that melts in your mouth. Another must-try is Omise's famous pork cutlet sandwich (750 yen). The combination of the juiciness of the thick, freshly fried pork cutlet, the texture of the crisp cabbage, and the sweet and spicy sauce is superb.
