Sansho (Japanese pepper) is an effective accent, and the dish is like a hot pot with lots of Chinese cabbage and mushrooms. The udon itself is also delicious. It is a recommended dish.

Located in the castle town of Sasayama, Maekawa is a beautifully renovated old private home with a charming atmosphere in which to enjoy its cuisine. Of special note is the "Wild Flowers" course meal, which allows you to enjoy delicious mountain village cuisine such as roasted venison and stewed herring. In addition, the restaurant offers ingredients that are hard to find in Tanba Sasayama with elegant flavors. Dishes are also served with delicious rice and homemade pickles. The tatami room overlooks the garden, with a pleasant breeze blowing, and is in a wonderful location. Rates are reasonable and the location is convenient for sightseeing.

Second visit. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and the creamy oyakodon was the best. I was also curious about the curry. If I have the chance to go again, I would like to try it✨

We had the peony hot pot! It was served with grated yam and appetizers, and since it was New Year's Day, they even served us zenzai (sweetened red bean soup)! I was full and it was delicious!
