Capricciosa Kumamoto Kamitori

The restaurant is conveniently located along the arcade and on the second floor of the Nagasaki Bookstore building. The restaurant is entirely non-smoking and has a capacity of 48 seats, mostly at tables. The restaurant is reported to be slightly more compact than before due to the relocation, but it is a comfortable space that maintains a clean and casual atmosphere.

Capricciosa is a chain of Italian restaurants opened by the founder in 1978 in Shibuya, Tokyo. As for the Kumamoto Kamidori branch, it originally operated in Dori-machi-suji, Kumamoto City, and moved its address to the current Nagasaki Bookstore Building 2F in 2022.

The founder, Mr. Seiaki Honda, went to Italy by himself in 1962 and graduated from the National Enarque Hotel School with first class honors, worked as a chef at the Italian Pavilion at the 1970 Osaka Expo, and opened his first restaurant in Shibuya at the age of 34. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 44, but his recipes and passion have been passed on to other restaurants across Japan and continue to attract many people.
