An izakaya where you can enjoy authentic Kyushu cuisine and a wide selection of drinks
Kiyoshiya is an izakaya in Seki run by a chef who trained in Hakata. It features a rich selection of Kyushu dishes, especially the soup-based 'motsunabe' and 'basashi'. The skewers and appetizers unique to izakayas are also exquisite and pair perfectly with drinks. It's a wonderful place to relax and spend quality time with colleagues or friends in a comfortable atmosphere.
I was able to park in front of the store and was quickly guided to my seat. There are both tatami and table seating, and ordering can be done smoothly with both the staff and a tablet. The grill was lit for us, and it’s convenient that I can adjust the heat to my liking with the knob on the side. The kalbi, loin, and harami are tender, and the slightly sweet sauce goes well with the rice. The mildly spicy soup has a gentle heat, is easy to drink with plenty of eggs, and has enough volume to share and enjoy. The stone-grilled potato salad is mixed with chopped bacon, mayonnaise, and mustard, and the occasional crispy bits that form are the best.
A fusion space of cakes and café for family enjoyment
Tandoor Honten is an attractive café and cake specialty shop located in Ajisai Hill, Minokamo City. The building, reminiscent of southern France, features warm wooden floors and a large wood-burning stove, creating a cozy atmosphere. The diverse selection of cakes and coffee sets offers a blissful bite, promising new flavor encounters with each visit.
It was my second time, and my companion went for the first time. We enjoyed the stone-grilled bibimbap and the chigae pot (with tofu) deliciously. I thought it would be nice if the salad had a bit more variety of vegetables. The table we were randomly assigned to was wobbly, which bothered me. I chose a drink made with vinegar for dessert, but since I originally had a dislike for carbonated drinks, I couldn't finish it all.
The interior is new and clean, and the eel noren (a traditional fabric divider) is lovely, making it a pleasant place to spend time. There are private tables and tatami rooms, which is nice for enjoying a meal in a calm atmosphere. The signature dish, unagi (grilled eel) served in a wooden tub, comes with condiments, small side dishes, a clear soup with Nankin fried tofu, pickles, and dessert, which is exciting. The eel is grilled over charcoal, giving the skin a fragrant crispness, while the flesh is fluffy and juicy, perfectly complementing the rich sauce. The fluffy dashi omelet is also impressive, made with plenty of eggs, providing a satisfying experience. I felt that it was easy to use for family gatherings and business meetings, as you can watch a large eel swimming at the entrance.
The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy your meal leisurely. The carrot appetizer is fragrant with cumin and whole grain mustard, spicy, and immediately captured my heart. The soup is rich in vegetable flavor, thick, and delicious, permeating the body. The main fish is perfectly crispy on the skin and fluffy in the flesh, bringing happiness with every bite. The grilled green onions hidden under the chicken are sweet, and they pair excellently with the sauce. The colorful presentation and attentive service were exceptional, and I finished my meal excitedly until the end.
The green onion wrapped tongue that I was curious about is packed with green onions, making for a fun texture, and it can be enjoyed refreshingly with lemon. The kalbi, harami, and heart are all flavorful, and each one is delicious without a doubt. The ribeye in a grilled sukiyaki style has cotton candy that melts into the sauce, creating a good balance of sweetness and saltiness, and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The stone-grilled potato salad is finished right in front of you, and its savory aroma is addictive. The service is smooth, and the staff's response is polite and pleasant. The post-meal catalana and ice cream are rich and provide a great sense of satisfaction.

I like ketchup rice that is a little sticky because I feel like the flavor is soaked into it, so this restaurant is also in my tentative top 3.

Natto Uzura (fermented soybean curd)
I was so impressed with the natto uzura (fermented soybean curd) I had the first time I came here before that I had to put it on Rikomeshi-chan (......). It's the best. It's a great place to have a relaxed after-party after watching the junior students perform at the school festival. I want to come back next year.
It's good to eat fish at a sushi bar, but it's also fun to discover something new! By the way, the ume kura kyurimai is also very good! You must order it first! Losing my Mio here is also a good memory!
