Exquisite Spanish cuisine that showcases local blessings
Yoichi LOOP is a restaurant in Yoichi, Hokkaido, where you can enjoy Spanish cuisine made with fresh local ingredients. Dishes are crafted to maximize the seasonal produce, with the seafood from Yoichi being particularly impressive. Dining in a sophisticated setting, complemented by rare Yoichi wines selected by a professional sommelier, offers an exceptional experience. Each visit brings new discoveries, featuring dishes that will delight even the most discerning food lovers.
I visited for the first time and had the course menu of the selfish meal. I'm glad I went! The staff were very kind, and above all, the food was luxurious and delicious! Everyone I went with was very satisfied, and I would like to use it again.
Siamo arrivati prima del previsto, ma ci hanno accolto con piacere. Hanno anche regolato il livello di piccantezza e sia l'aspetto che il sapore erano davvero deliziosi. L'interno del ristorante, curato nei dettagli, era molto bello.
The shabu-shabu made with white wine infused with herbal aromas is very impressive. Alternating between the refreshing ponzu sauce and the rich balsamic-flavored sauce highlights the sweetness of the pork. The variety of accompanying vegetables kept it enjoyable until the end. The choice of pasta or risotto for dessert is a Western-style finish, and the broth is so flavorful that it brings a smile to your face. The hamburger served in a hot skillet and the juicy tonkatsu with red wine sauce overflowed with meat juices. The handmade appetizers and desserts were also carefully prepared, and I felt it was a wonderful place with excellent wine pairings.
Lunch in Yoichi
Before going to visit Nikka Whisky's Yoichi distillery, I always stop by here.
On the first floor is a store where you can buy local fish, crabs, and other seafood at low prices, and on the second floor is this seafood workshop.
As soon as you go up the stairs and enter the entrance, you will see samples and a cash register where you can place your order.
HOKKEI is 340 yen and SOHACHI is 370 yen (?). Despite the extremely low price, the size is large and the portions are ample.
After ordering, you receive a meal ticket and raise your hand when the number on the ticket is called.
When the number on the ticket is called, you raise your hand and the food is brought to you.
The three of us ordered Iso-don, ikura-don (mini salmon roe bowl), grilled hokki-gai shellfish, grilled sohachi salt, sea urchin, and draft beer for 3,710 yen.
This is an unbelievable price in Osaka.
The shellfish is fresh and tasty. The Sohachi was grilled just right with a roe in it.
The sea urchin was a little less tasty this time of year, but a plate of sea urchin was also 1,150 yen.
Draft beer is available in Sapporo or Asahi for 320 yen, so it doesn't matter if it's before noon or not, you'll be drinking it.
The only exit from Yoichi Station is on the Yoichi Distillery side, and buses also run on that side, so access is very convenient.
By the way, it takes 3 minutes on foot from Yoichi Station and 1 minute on foot from the Yoichi Jujigai bus stop.
When I went there in the summer before, there were more kinds of fish and the taste was richer, but it is attractive to have a hearty meal at such a reasonable price.
Seats were full by 12:00 p.m., so it might be a good idea to stagger your visit a bit.
Revisited in July 2014
I always go to this restaurant when I visit Hokkaido, and I went here again this time.
First we went to the first floor to pick up some souvenirs, and then headed to the second floor.
As usual, I ordered a beer and some fish to go with it.
It's a bit of a hassle to get a meal ticket, but considering the cheap price and taste, I can't say it's an extravagance.
This time, we had delicious sea urchin and a bowl of salmon roe for dinner.
Even if you eat that much, it is only about 2,000 yen per person, so the taste and cheapness of this place are wonderful.
You can enjoy a hamburger made only with venison, which has a pleasant aroma and is very easy to eat. In addition to the classic original sauce, you can also choose curry or wasabi, which pair perfectly. The premium Stage 1 contains tender, slow-cooked venison, while Stage 2 adds a patty for a hearty and satisfying experience. The meat is well-seasoned with spices, providing a rich umami flavor that pairs well with the acidity of the tomato. The rich demi-glace sauce and the depth of the ground meat add to the happiness with every bite. The refreshing juice from apple cheeks is gentle and nicely rounds off the aftertaste of the hamburger.
This is a wonderful shop where you can casually enjoy wine from Yoichi. They have a selection of natural wines, and the variety of glasses is exciting. The atmosphere inside is relaxed, allowing you to spend time comfortably at the counter. The service is attentive, and they explain local stories in an easy-to-understand manner. The snacks are simple yet pair well with the wine, making them irresistibly delicious. It's also easily accessible, making it perfect for those who want to experience the present of Yoichi.
