Che cosa è Dessert?: Dessert celebrates sweetness, texture, and craft across styles ranging from classic cakes and tarts to airy mousses, custards, ice creams, and delicate pastries. Kitchens employ techniques such as baking, steaming, churning, tempering chocolate, and caramelizing sugar to shape flavor and structure. Menus might feature items like fruit-forward parfaits, flaky mille-feuille, rich brownies, silken panna cotta, or warm crêpes finished à la minute. Many spots showcase a display case of seasonal creations, while others offer plated desserts from an open counter or a course-style finale to a meal. The experience often highlights contrast—hot and cold, crisp and creamy, bright and bittersweet—brought together with thoughtful garnishes and sauces. Guests commonly pair desserts with coffee or tea, and some venues explore tasting flights or afternoon tea service. Whether for a celebratory indulgence or a simple treat, dessert presents a satisfying closing note or a standalone highlight.
I had too much sweet stuff to eat, so I took delivery of an auto-reserve. It was the best holiday ever.
The crème brûlée was delicious with bittersweet, tickly, shiny caramel and sweet cream....
The cream puffs were better than this but they were in my stomach before I could take a picture..................................sorry 😂....
I want to ask again!
■No longer an art! Seasonal parfait: Legendary patisserie highly praised by gourmet bloggers
Asako Iwayanagi
A 5-minute walk from Todoroki Station.
A five-minute walk from Todoroki Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line.
Asakoiwayanagi, a famous sweets store renowned for its seasonal parfaits, is located just a 5-minute walk from Todoroki Station.
It has been selected as one of the 100 best restaurants on the food log for two consecutive years and has a very good reputation among fellow gourmets.
Located in the middle of a residential area, it is characterized by the fact that it is completely unmarked on the exterior.
From the outside, it looks like a gray abandoned building, but the inside of the store, which can be seen through the glass, is a high-class patisserie itself.
The branding of the shop has been completely accomplished.
Note that the gift store and the café are separate from each other.
However, when you first enter the gift store, you will be asked "Are you buying a gift? Or are you using the café? It is OK even if you make a mistake.
The dark lighting inside the store creates a chic atmosphere. I love the feeling of being in a different place than usual.
The cafe has nearly 20 seats. There are both counters and tables, so you don't have to worry even if you are alone.
It was a weekday afternoon, so I didn't have to wait in line to be seated.
The menu I ordered
Parfait beige de Noel 3,500 yen
(with Japanese tea Okuyutaka Koi Tama Green Tea)
The seasonal parfait I was looking for.
December is "Parfait Bijou de Noel".
A gorgeous parfait made with strawberries and raspberries.
An artistic parfait that made me want to hesitate to eat it.
Beautifully layered with various ingredients. Beautiful.
The top layer is meringue, which is sweet and sour.
The strawberries are all Tochiotome. The acidity makes you want to squeeze your mouth shut, and the taste will sting your throat.
The rings made of strawberry chocolate are thick with a cranberry-like flavor.
The strawberry chocolate rings taste like cranberries and are very rich.
The ice cream is mild and has a wonderful balance with the sourness. The sourness of the ice cream was the true taste of strawberries.
It is even better when eaten with cranberry crumbs!
The gelée was mixed with palsamic vinegar, giving it a mature acidity. You can also taste alcohol.
Furthermore, there is pistachio ice cream under it.
The acidity of the jam and the sweetness of the pistachios will stay in your mouth forever.
You can enjoy all the layers.
The bottom layer is a thick whole fruit jam that melts in your mouth. Jelly-like.
Gentle to balance the mouth at the end of the meal.
It was a wonderfully moving parfait.
No wonder it has a good reputation.
The price is high, but you get more than you pay for.
The size of the parfait is large, but the flavors are not too sweet, so you will not get bored.
I would like to visit this store regularly.
I would like to try their famous Mont Blanc and other parfaits as well.
Sweets lovers should definitely visit. It will be a memorable time.
Thank you for the treat.
