A hidden gem specializing in hamburgers in Kyoto

At HAMBURG LABO Pontocho, you can enjoy hamburgers and steaks made from Japanese Wagyu heifers. In a traditional Kyoto townhouse setting, you can savor the exquisite flavors as the chef cooks right in front of you. The exquisite sauce made with blue cheese and white miso pairs perfectly with the juicy hamburgers. You can also enjoy Kyoto-style pickles and desserts, with new flavor discoveries waiting for you with each visit.

I saw the sign on a warm little street in Pontocho and was sucked in. It was right before the last order, but I was very satisfied with the elaborate flavor of the miniature Wagyu beef hamburger with white miso blue cheese sauce, which was grilled by hand. The regular grated sauce was also delicious with a change of flavor. We were seated only at the counter and had a pleasant conversation with the chef. The restaurants in Pontocho are prone to change, but we would definitely visit again.
