The lamb, made from mutton after shearing the wool, had a tough texture and a unique odor that did not appeal to many, so it did not become established. In the Showa era, promotion of lamb became active, and restaurants serving Genghis Khan began to appear, spreading throughout the region as a soul food for the locals.
