Lovely Western-style house in an office district Wandering around the Kitahama area on this day There are many nice cafes along the river in this area. I've been having a lot of BMs, but I haven't been able to digest all of them! There are just too many places I want to go! This one, Kitahama Retro, has been buried under BM for quite some time now! Located less than 5 minutes walk from Keihan Kitahama station! As you walk, a western-style building suddenly appears, which doesn't look like this place! A rare building designated as a national tangible cultural property. Inside the store, cookies, cakes, and miscellaneous goods are sold on the first floor. The cafe is on the second floor. The staircase is a little creaky, but it has a nice atmosphere. Inside, the white walls are a beautiful emerald green! I was alone, but I was glad to be shown to a table for 4 people slowly and comfortably! I ordered the cake set, 1,200 yen, I think. Banana chocolate cake, tea is Nilgiri The cake was very homemade, and was served with a knife. The chocolate is sweet, but not overly so! The sweetness goes well with a cup of tea, so take your time and enjoy! The tea comes in a generous pot of about 2 1/2 cups! Hot water and plenty of milk ←They warm the water properly. This is indeed a popular cafe! It's a blissful time to relax in the beautiful atmosphere. I want to visit again! But I have to go to other riverside restaurants too!
