Lively and very popular! After eating beef tongue at Shinsuke's... of course I wasn't satisfied. When I did my preliminary research, I picked out a restaurant I was interested in! This one is close by, so I decided to go there... It was not so much close, but very close, right next to the restaurant. The time was around 9:30 p.m. The restaurant with 171 seats was packed! There seems to be a counter, a tatami room, and tables around a sunken hearth! After about 15 minutes of waiting, the seats at the irori and the tables became available! Of course! Irori seats, right? Irori-yaki originated in Sendai It's fun to watch the fish, vegetables and beef tongue skewered right in front of you! I ordered Homemade Earl Grey Plum Wine There is a delicious local sake in Tohoku, but unfortunately I am not good enough to drink it... So I decided to order the homemade one! It's a refreshing and tasty black tea version of umeshu. There are many kinds of sake here... It would be more fun if you can drink it! Sendai Aoba Gyoza Dumpling-like gyoza dumplings with local vegetable "Yukina" kneaded into the dough! The dough is so sticky and delicious that you might say it's a rice cake! The cheerful and energetic waitstaff, the manager's attentive and precise instructions... It really is a store full of energy! The manager also has a low profile and personality! A local izakaya in Sendai for 27 years! The izakaya was very popular with locals and tourists alike! I can honestly say that I would like to visit again when I go to Sendai!
