I entered a calm tea house I found while walking in Kenrokuen. Since the seats are freely selectable, I sat by the window and relaxed while gazing at the garden view. The signature dish, Jibu-ni, has a thick broth that clings to the ingredients, and the chicken is surprisingly tender. It also includes wheat gluten and seasonal vegetables, with a gentle seasoning that seeps into the body. The dessert I ordered, zenzai with fresh wheat gluten, was topped with a light layer of gold leaf, and the accents of salted kelp and pickled plum were excellent. I enjoyed konnyaku dengaku with black syrup and soybean flour, and I had a wonderful time that completely blew away the fatigue from my stroll.
