A heartwarming and happy time - GOTETSU Oden is a dish that one craves for irresistibly during the cold season. We visited "Gotetsu" where you can enjoy this winter delicacy in an elegant space. Although located in Kitashinchi, the restaurant has a somewhat downtown atmosphere, and is said to be frequented by many businessmen after work. The restaurant has been in business for more than 20 years in Kitashinchi, where many famous restaurants stand side by side. We have felt the reason why it has been loved for so long with our tongue. Dishes Natural fresh fish sashimi ¥1,400 (chutoro, sea bream, kanpachi) Starting with the melt-in-your-mouth chutoro (medium fatty tuna), all the fish are fresh and delicious. The finely ground wasabi accents the fish and boosts its flavor. Chutoro chutoro with aburi ponzu sauce ¥1,200 What a waste to sear the chutoro! I am ashamed of myself for thinking that searing the medium fatty tuna is a waste! I will never forget the soft sweetness that comes from searing. But the inside of the chutoro is rare and still has the original goodness of the chutoro, like a tenderloin. Horse Sashimi and Tategami ¥1,200 Two pieces piled on top of each other and served with ginger soy sauce. The fat in the mane is perfectly neutralized by the sashimi. Sake goes well with the sashimi. Oden assortment ¥1,600 The light, thin broth, typical of Kyoto-style oden, soaks into each of the ingredients. I drank all of the broth. They serve the dish in a size that suits the number of people and how full they are. It is a must-order menu item when you come to the restaurant. Oyster oden (no price listed) The owner recommended this dish to me and I ordered it. It is very tasty. The extract of the oyster is blended into the flavorful broth, the heat is perfect, and the slight aroma of the sea boosts the flavor. This is a rare and precious dish that cannot be found anywhere else. We hope you will try it. Shin (Tare) 200 yen From here, we move on to yakitori. The heart is made by skewering the meat so tightly that the flavor is concentrated, and the rare skewers, of which only two or three can be obtained from one kilogram, are very addictive. We recommend the tare (sauce). Tsukune (with sauce)230 yen I was surprised at the fluffiness of the skewers, which I have never experienced before.
