Futaba Sushi" - An Extraordinarily Big Sushi Restaurant in Fukushima Fukushima - Sushi of the masses that is unbelievably huge! I had been aware of this restaurant for some time, as I frequently visit this area, but I had no intention of going in. The reason is that I could not imagine the restaurant's deliciousness due to its unattractive appearance. This time, however, a friend of mine who was having a drink with me said that he was a regular, so we decided to leave the first teppanyaki early and pay a visit. Needless to say, I regretted having avoided the restaurant until now... Basic Information "Futaba Sushi About a 1-minute walk from Shin-Fukushima Station. Budget: ¥3,000 - ¥7,000 Business hours: 17:00~. Appearance The restaurant is located along Route 2 in Fukushima, where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic, and it gives the impression of being a long-established restaurant. Delicious and inexpensive! Cheap! Fast! The signboard is a powerful landmark. Interior Surprisingly, if I may be so bold, the interior of the restaurant is much cleaner than I had imagined from the outside. An elderly couple was running the restaurant (at the time of my visit), with the owner behind the counter and the mother in the hall. The dishes Tai (fish) 400 yen Since we visited the restaurant for the second time, we started with sushi. First of all, I was surprised by the "size" of the sushi. Both the sushi and the rice are huge, and my sense is that they are 1.5 times the size of ordinary sushi. Naturally, the neta is thick, so it is a very satisfying meal. Unagi 600 yen A thick, freshly seared eel is piled on top of rice. Is it really sushi? It is so hearty and delicious that you may wonder if it is even sushi at all. The fusion of the "crispy and fluffy" texture of the eel and the rice is so filling that it gives you an indescribably satisfying feeling. Hamachi 400 yen The size of the eel is so unprecedented that it does not even fit in the rice and may be 5.6 mm thick. It is so unprecedentedly thick that it may be 5.6 mm thick. It is so delicious because it is in season and has a lot of fat on it. Shrimp ¥400 The "sweet sauce" that enhances the rich sweetness of the shrimp brings out the exquisite flavor. I recommend this restaurant to those who don't like conveyor-belt sushi but don't have the money to go to a high-end sushi restaurant, but still want to eat good sushi. Among the many sushi restaurants in Osaka, it is rare to find one that you can use on a daily basis without feeling self-conscious. It's big. It's just huge. Futaba Sushi 1 minute walk from Shin-Fukushima Station Sushi restaurant with huge sushi and rice. Some people may not be able to eat all of it in one bite. The sushi is so large that some people may not be able to finish it in one bite. And yet, it is still very tasty. The owner, who is a craftsman, and his mother, who is a kind person and kind mother. The exterior of the restaurant is not very beautiful. But once you pass through the noren, you will find yourself in a genuine sushi restaurant. This was my second visit to the restaurant, so I just picked up some food. I would like to enjoy it with gusto next time 😁. futabasushi is delicious!
