What is Osaka?: Osaka is a dynamic gateway in Japan where everyday flavors and artisanal techniques coexist. The city is often associated with the playful spirit of kuidaore, and that convivial mindset shapes a dining scene that encourages grazing through neighborhoods, from sizzling takoyaki stands and hearty okonomiyaki counters to crisp kushikatsu, dashi-forward udon, and refined kaiseki-inspired plates. Market arcades and waterfront districts invite seafood-focused menus, while cozy izakaya alleys, noodle shops, and sweets artisans reflect a love of approachable, seasonal tastes. Pressed sushi traditions and a fondness for rich yet balanced broths hint at Kansai’s palate. As a historic merchant center tied to trade and entertainment, Osaka nurtured quick, flavorful cooking and a culture of lively hospitality that continues to influence its tables today. Visitors may find that both classic comfort dishes and globally inspired kitchens share the same emphasis on warmth, rhythm, and the joy of eating together.
What is Tempura?: Tempura highlights the pleasure of batter and oil handled with restraint and precision. Diners often encounter prawns, white fish, squid, and seasonal vegetables lightly coated in a chilled batter and fried at a high temperature, yielding a crisp shell with tender textures inside. The experience frequently centers on timing: pieces arrive moments after leaving the fryer, inviting a relaxed pace as each bite is enjoyed while hot. Condiments such as tentsuyu with grated daikon, sea salt, or matcha salt offer contrasting accents. Menus may feature a counter service where items are presented one by one, mixed assortments for sharing, or pairings with rice and noodles like tendon, tempura soba, and udon. Variations in oil blends, batter thickness, and cut size create distinct aromas, sounds, and textures—from a gentle crackle to a lively sizzle—encouraging guests to compare nuances across ingredients and styles.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is calm and the smell of tempura wafts through the air. We enjoyed a variety of tempura, all of which were delicious. I was very impressed with each and every dish of the elegant tempura!
I was really thinking of bringing this place to the number of 600!
But...my usual junior staff couldn't make it due to a series of schedule changes (~_~~;)
June, my junior's birthday!
What do you want to eat? She replied, "Tempura! and she replied, "Tempura!
I remembered this place before looking for a good place to eat!
I remember there is a Michelin-starred tempura restaurant in Esaka.
Tempura! but my junior said she had a very weak stomach...
She says she has a stomach ache as soon as she eats oily food...
Here, there's not so much, and the ingredients are good!
I want to go there too...lol...I've decided to go here!
I called 3 weeks in advance to make a reservation!
They open at 11:30, but they are already full at 11:30...
I made an appointment for 1:30 p.m., and they said they would call me as soon as they had an opening.
The restaurant is tucked away in a residential area.
If you don't look carefully, you might pass by it, and even though I live nearby, I didn't know about it.
For lunch, there are two courses: a mini tempura course for 2,800 yen and omakase tempura kaiseki for 5,800 yen.
We chose the mini tempura course!
This course includes an appetizer, an appetizer, 6 kinds of tempura, vinegared dish, red miso soup, white rice, simmered baby sardines, pickles, and dessert.
The difference of 5,800 yen is that sashimi and grilled fish are added, and there are more kinds of tempura!
First of all, appetizers and starters are carefully prepared, refreshing and delicious!
From left to right, Mexican seaweed salt, Nagasaki kelp salt, and Mongolian rock salt.
Salt is totally different♪
It was nice to enjoy a variety!
Corn: Gold Rush from Tokushima, very sweet and impressive!
Snow crab in summer. The meat is fluffy, sweet and delicious!
Awaji smelt I've never had a smelt with such plump meat!
Tokushima lotus root and Hokkaido sole! The lotus root has a firm fiber, and the fava beans are also very tasty!
The ayu fish from Lake Biwa is beautifully deep-fried and has a delicious bitter taste!
Sesame Tofu The texture of the outer arare and the sesame tofu inside is interestingly firmer!
Asparagus from Shinshu Sweet! Anyway, it is sweet!
Scallops Scallops are also thick and half-raw inside! They are also sweet and delicious! No pictures...
Naruto Kintoki: It's so sweet! I didn't know there was such a sweet Naruto Kintoki! I'm so impressed!
I was told there were 6 items, but there were more than that, so I was very satisfied!
And rice, red miso soup and pickles!
The rice is so delicious! So sparkling and slightly sweet!
The chirimen is also very elegant and a perfect accompaniment to the rice♪
Dessert is mango sorbet over coconut milk!
This, too, is insanely delicious!
The mango is not weirdly sweet, but it's also kind of dense~!
I was left impressed until the very end!
All of them were so delicious!
The owner casually participated in my conversation with my junior, which was really fun!
For lunch, a reasonable course is enough to satisfy me, and I am very satisfied!
Sorry for the lengthy review.

The interior, which has been carefully renovated from an old house, is comfortable and allows you to relax immediately. The course featuring tempura with a Western twist offers surprises with each dish. The shrimp is lightly coated and plump, perfectly complementing the sauce. The tempura of sea bream and venison is also fragrant and juicy, clearly showcasing the quality of the ingredients. There is a wide variety of homemade drinks, wines, and sake, and it's nice to have suggestions that pair well with the dishes. It's delightful to see the frying station from the counter, with freshly made dishes arriving one after another. The light and crispy tempura enhances the flavor of the ingredients. The dish combining tuna and pickled radish, along with the aroma of seaweed, is very delicious. The tempura with a runny yolk brings happiness with every bite. The shrimp is firm and can be enjoyed all the way to the head, which is also crispy. The pairing with wine is great, and I was able to enjoy squid, bamboo shoots, and seaweed tempura as well.
The food is great, but it's the homey atmosphere that makes me feel at home @Juso
Monthly dinner party with fellow foodies
Let's have a reasonable dinner party this month! The theme was "Let's have a reasonable dinner party!
We are going to a slightly more expensive restaurant the next month, so let's take that into consideration!
Where is it?
If it's a reasonable place, how about a tempura restaurant in Juso?
It's an instant decision!
The restaurant is Tempura Hasegawa!
The location is about a 5-minute walk from the west exit of Hankyu Juso Station.
You have to go around in a circle to get there.
The menu is as follows
We recommend the freshly fried tempura course for 1,500 yen.
Someone who has been to the restaurant once recommended this!
Let's go with that!
This is the toast drink!
This is not a calpis sour!
This is a nigori plum wine!
It's sweet, just the way I like it.
Course start!
Today's dish
Whale bacon
Moromi Cucumber

Fresh vegetables
The colorful and beautiful arrangement of the dishes!
I haven't had a chance to eat whale bacon very often, and I think I've almost never had it.
It's delicious and light in spite of its fatty meat!
I hear it's of good quality?
Cucumber with moromi miso is an iron plate!
Tempura condiments
Ume salt, coarse salt, sansho salt
Tentsuyu, grated daikon, lemon and many other variations!
The owner told me the recommended way to eat it, so I had it just as he recommended!

Shrimp leaf roll
Shrimp Nori Roll
Angel Shrimp
Squid Nori Maki
Shiso seaweed
Mentaiko (cod roe), Oba Maki

The owner fries the ingredients separately in two different fryers.
They are always freshly fried, and at this price, it is high-cost!
Also, the interaction between the owner's grandson and his mother is very heartwarming!
The owner's grandchildren and her mother are very friendly and kind.
She is very attentive to her customers and makes them feel very comfortable.
The air conditioner was broken that day...
I was flapping my fan around, and she looked really sorry.
The owner of the restaurant was the hottest person in the restaurant...
It was hot, but I enjoyed it!
I heard that the tempura rice bowl is delicious, though it costs extra to finish!
But the sauce was ruined by the earthquake...
I'm so sad... I wish I could have had it...
Can we eat in a cooler place this time?
I'll take my revenge!
Thanks for the food.

■HENRIOT Henriot Brut Souverain
On this hot and humid day, the crisp and fine bubbles were refreshing!
Well, now..! Thirst quenched and ready to eat!
■Appetizers
First, let's start with appetizers
Seared Miyagi bonito, homemade kalasumi, grated radish, yuzu kosho, green onion
Nagasaki Steamed Abalone with Black Abalone Liver Sauce
Akashi simmered octopus with squid smelt salt
Homemade sesame tofu
We are happy to have cool and cold dishes!
The bonito was soft and moist!
At first glance, the flavors of squid meat, grated radish, and yuzu pepper do not seem to be consistent, but they match strangely!
The abalone is tender and the liver sauce has a mature taste!
The sesame tofu was soft and chewy, with a rich sesame flavor!
I personally love this dish, so I'm very happy about it!
The bowls are also very unique and impressive, and are visually pleasing to the eye!
Assorted Sashimi
Nagasaki red grouper, aged for 4 days
Indian bluefin tuna, red meat
Indian bluefin tuna (toro)
Aged red grouper is moist but firm.
Rich umami flavor.
The tuna, especially the Toro, melted in my mouth.
Salad
Leafy greens and lettuce in easy-to-eat sizes!
I was told that refills are available, so it makes a good companion when eating fried food!
Now the tempura begins!
Grated daikon, tempura sauce, lemon, and salt: algae salt and sumi-shio. You can eat it in many variations, so I'm really looking forward to it!
Tiger prawn head
Many restaurants start with the prawns, but this is the first time to start with the head!
The texture is soft and supple, and I'm not a fan of the crunchy ones that stick in your mouth!
Tiger prawn
The prawns are served with salt and lemon.
The prawns are semi-raw, so you can taste the raw texture, and they are sweet!
Tiger prawn
Served with tempura sauce.
The second one is deep-fried so you can taste its plumpness.
It is nice to be able to enjoy the taste comparison in this way!
Hiroshima asparagus tips
Served with salt and lemon
It is sweet and flaky!
Hiroshima asparagus
One is served with salt and one with tempura sauce.
The asparagus has texture and a slight bitterness.
Tokushima hamo (Japanese conger eel)
Hamo (Japanese conger eel) served with plum sauce!
Hamo (Japanese conger eel) is a perfect accompaniment to ume plum sauce!
MOZUKU vinegared mozuku!
I think the crunchy mozuku seaweed is not from Okinawa, but from Aomori.
It reset my mouth!
Chiba boiled clam
The aroma and flavor spread quickly in your mouth!
I feel so happy!
Lake Biwa young ayu fish
Before frying, we were shown a healthy young ayu fish.
It was alive a while ago, but I'm sorry!
It had just the right amount of bitterness and was not at all frizzy!
We enjoyed it very much!
Tea soba noodles
Is this another way to refresh your palate?
It was cold and I enjoyed it with a sip!
Tokushima lotus root
It is served with salt.
I personally love lotus root!
Ibaraki sweet potato
It is served with salt.
Is this steamed once? It's like eating a sweet potato!
Nagasaki Kensaki, Hokkaido Uni, Caviar
Tempura of squid and sea urchin, topped with a large amount of caviar!
What a luxury dish! What a luxurious and sumptuous dish!
When I put it in my mouth, I was in a panic!
The squid was done in a rare style and the sea urchin was so rich that it was gone in an instant........
Mizunasu (Eggplant)
Eggplant is full of water, and even when tempura is made, it is still watery!
Eggplants should be served with tempura sauce, right?
Tokushima shiitake mushrooms Hokkaido scallops
Hokkaido scallops, served with squid smelt salt!
When two items are combined in one dish, you feel like you're getting something for your money!
The juiciness of shiitake mushrooms and the sweetness of scallops are irresistible!
Aomori carrots
I'll have it with algae salt
How sweet can carrots be?
Even though they are so thick, I can chew them so easily!
I think I realized how delicious carrots are on this day!
Nagasaki sea eel
Since the restaurant is called "Anago" (conger eel), conger eel is the main dish here!
Half of the whole tempura was served with tempura sauce
Half was served with salt!
The fluffy conger eel was soaked in the tempura sauce and the flavor soaked in!
The salt taste makes the conger eel even more fluffy and melty!
I could eat a whole one without a bite...
The final dish!
We were offered a choice of tencha or three sushi rolls to finish off the meal, so we decided on tencha!
I was quite full, but the dashi broth was delicious and I could eat it smoothly.
What is going on with my stomach? It's getting a little scary.
"
■Tama
Just like at a sushi restaurant, the eggs are lightly seared at the end, like a brûlée.
The eggs are so moist and fine, and the brûlée is so crispy and delicious.
The brûlée part is crunchy and delicious! Oh no, I ate so much! I'm a pretty good eater, but even I'm having a hard time! I ate so much that even I was in pain!
I think women will be quite full!
And 9,000 yen for this meal is amazing, isn't it?
Tempura is either very cheap or very expensive at most restaurants, but to be able to enjoy this middle line of deliciousness is very satisfying!
It could be used for a date or for entertaining guests! I rode my bicycle home, but it was a long way home!
I was honestly surprised to find that it is completely different from Ouest's in Higashimangoku!
I'm sure you'll remember this place!
Thank you for the food!
