Katsuragawa Sushi is my favorite sushi restaurant in Azabu Juban on days when I want to splurge a little. The owner and two senior service men are the owners. The service is polite and elegant, but they keep a good distance and let you enjoy the conversation, the space is relaxing, the customers are friendly, the ingredients, rice, and other dishes are delicious, there is a good selection of sake and champagne, and everything is satisfying. This time, the fatty sardine sashimi and the sweet Ishigaki clams that almost melted even though they are shellfish were superb. And the flathead. The chewy texture is unbearable. For sashimi and nigiri, a decorative knife is used to enhance the taste of the ingredients. The small size of the rice is just the right amount and has a refined taste that I like. You can eat as many pieces as you like. The seasonal kombujime (sashimi) of isagi with okura (a type of edible seaweed) on top is a perfect match in the mouth. The fresh bonito is also delicious. I also like the kanpyo. It is boiled to a firm edge and seasoned perfectly with rice. I don't like sushi restaurants that are too expensive and tiring, even if they are good restaurants. Here, the owner and the elderly service man are friendly, kind, and relaxing when you talk to them. Anyway, it is a comfortable restaurant. It is not cheap, about 15,000 yen per person, but every time I go there, I feel luxurious. Thank you very much.
