After crossing to Oshima and entering a small path, I drove along a terrible road where cars couldn't pass each other and arrived at a small fishing port. At first, I thought, 'Did I take the wrong road?' but the navigation showed I had arrived. Looking around, I saw a single oyster processing plant and an oddly mismatched building next to it. There it was, the sign for Yamayo Shokudo. The oysters come from next door, so they must be fresh. As mentioned in other reviews, the freshness is different. Since there were two of us, we ordered courses A and B! There were so many oyster dishes that we couldn't fit them all on the table. With an ocean view and the occasional forklift passing by carrying oysters, I felt like I had wandered into a hidden space from another dimension until the very end. Most of the oyster menu is included in the course meals, so if there are two or more of you, I recommend ordering A and B. I will definitely visit again soon.

I had the chef's recommendation of various dishes featuring large oysters, and they were all delicious. If I had to pick one, it would be the shigure-ni. It was neither too hard nor too soft, and the flavor was just right. The weather was nice, and having lunch while looking at the sea was an exquisite experience. The price for lunch itself is not high. However, the transportation is an issue. I took a taxi, and it was somewhat expensive. The roads are quite narrow, so I wouldn't recommend going by private car or rental car. I think the best way is to go while hiking.

I had oyster teriyaki rice bowl, oyster fry set meal, oyster piccata, and garlic butter oysters. First, I was surprised by the size of the oysters and amazed by their rich, creamy flavor and sweetness! They are wonderful oysters that do not lose to any seasonings or flavors. I am very satisfied. The price is worth it. The view of Kesennuma Bay with the oyster rafts lined up was also fantastic. I felt a bit anxious while going up the mountain road, but I was glad I made a reservation and visited!

First of all, the most important dishes are generally delicious. Especially the raw ham rolls with oysters, fried oysters, and oyster gratin are delicious! As for the sashimi... let's skip it ❌ However, the journey to get there is crazy! Those who are not confident in their driving might find it difficult to pass each other. The shoulders of the road are often cliffs or curbs, so if you really lack confidence in your driving, it's better to avoid it. It could be a nuisance to oncoming traffic.

Each dish had a large portion, and the ingredients were fresh and very delicious. I had the limited quantity fresh sea urchin pasta, which was lavishly topped with plenty of fresh sea urchin and was the best. The location was wonderful, with a view of the sea while dining, and I didn't feel bored during the wait. When I informed the staff about the decrease in the number of people upon arrival, they quickly accommodated unreserved guests with the unnecessary tables and chairs, showcasing their excellent flexibility. As mentioned in the prior information, the road to the restaurant was narrow, but there was a shoulder for passing, so I could travel back and forth with peace of mind. With the opening of the Sanriku Expressway, access has become easier, and I would like to go again.
