A story about a night when the sushi made by the apprentice of a very famous restaurant in Osaka was so delicious that it blew me away. Exterior view Sushi Takeuchi is located on the first basement floor of the Hiro Building in Kitashinchi. It is a new restaurant opened in 2019 by a disciple of Sushi Ohata in the same building. Interior The refined interior of the restaurant, with only 7 seats at the counter, is a very sobering sight. I had to hold back my overflowing drool as I watched the preparation unfold before my eyes. Now, let's go to the introduction of the courses. Dishes Omakase Course: ¥16,000 The menu consists of one omakase course. First, we started with ankimo and eggplant. The combination, which I had never seen before, was a sight to behold. Creamy liver like foie gras, thick eggplant, and topped with mushroom paste. Delicious. Shabu shabu shabu with sea bream The sea bream is served with a winter vegetable, turnip, and grated ponzu sauce. The tight flesh and the crispy flavor will leave you speechless. Awaji Island Spanish Mackerel The sauce is topped with ginkgo bean paste. The combination of Spanish mackerel, which is in season in autumn and winter, and ginkgo nuts, a taste of autumn, was a masterpiece. Buri Steak A dish topped with grated wasabi. All of the dishes were made with first-rate ingredients that could be tasted straight away. We were fully satisfied before the sushi. Two kinds of sea urchin and a large piece of musuko. The collaboration is the best. ・Kissing The sushi started with a kiss. I was surprised by its meaty texture. Squid The texture of the squid was so pleasant that it stuck to your teeth, yet it was not sticky. Button shrimp I was so impressed by the strong texture of the shrimp that I thought it was growing in my mouth. They are delicious. Shiogama Tuna Shiogama Tuna is from Shiogama, Miyagi Prefecture. The translucent visual appealed to me, and the taste that melted in my mouth fascinated me again. Boston Tuna Boston tuna is excellent from summer to fall. It has a strong lean flavor and is covered with firm fat. Nodoguro Tuna Nodoguro is a tuna that has a firm, tight appearance, but has an unimaginable amount of fat that spreads out in your mouth. The gap between the two is irresistible. Tiger prawn The sweetness, flavor, and texture are all top-notch, and I can easily recall them even now as I write this article. Conger eel The thickest conger eel I've ever had. Not just thick, but massive. The moment you hold it in your hand, you will feel "heavy! I felt it as soon as I held it. The heavy meat was packed with sweetness and flavor. Negitoro roll This was the end of the course. I was quite full. It is sometimes said that the food is delicious but not enough... but don't worry, it's not that. Thank you very much for the meal. Drinks Ebisu (bottled) Kirin (bottled) Kirin (bottle) ・Harukasumi We also had sake. The sake has a gorgeous aroma, a slight acidity, and a refreshing sensation that spreads in the mouth.
