After exhausting myself with delicious beer, I wanted a glass of wine, so I visited. Although misspelled, the name of the restaurant is "Barolo," a wine dining restaurant that boasts of Italian wine, which I love, and food. The one-panel counter and comfortable chairs make you forget that you are in Shimbashi. But the friendly service of the master, who loves to talk, and the wait staff made me realize again that I was in Shimbashi. The dishes prepared by the master, who has six years of experience in Japanese cuisine, are a blend of Japanese and Western dishes with a delicate and careful Japanese base. The fried horse mackerel here is exquisite. I have never had such a plump fried horse mackerel. According to the master, he grates the freshly caught horse mackerel and sprinkles salt on it immediately after it is caught. The carbonara is made with Parmegiano instead of cream, and the vegetables are smoked to give it a rich aroma that is gentle on the stomach. The wines are Barolo and Fenice. From an excellent and well-balanced producer. The bill for a bottle of wine, soup, fried horse mackerel, and pasta was ￥14,000. Surprising price considering Shinbashi, but we were satisfied with good wine and delicious food. We will go back again.
