We take pride in our obanzai (traditional Kyoto-style home dishes) made with local vegetables. The three-item and five-item assortments are especially popular because even a single customer can enjoy a variety of flavors. We also offer many creative dishes, such as eggplant and pork stir-fried with doubanjiang (spicy chili bean paste), squid confit, and fried shiitake mushrooms — each is carefully prepared and delicious. Ms. Ougitani, the female owner, after working in restaurants in Tokyo, opened "Waremokou" in Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture in May 2018. Originally from Kanagawa Prefecture, she has been familiar with cooking since childhood and returned feeling that nature-rich Iiyama was her second home. She continues to offer dishes that make use of local seasonal ingredients and strives daily to create a restaurant that delights customers. The shop name also expresses the idea of a "continuously changing form."
