A long-established izakaya overflowing with warmth in Kanda

Founded in 1964, Taikan is a long-standing izakaya where you can experience the charm of Kanda. The renovated interior offers a space that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new. Dishes like potato salad and those with a rich flavor profile pair perfectly with drinks, promising a delightful time. It's a spot where you can forget the passage of time and relax in a calm atmosphere.

Near Kanda Station, it's conveniently located under the elevated tracks. The interior is new and clean, and it's very comfortable. It has a warmth typical of a long-established shop, and you can feel the coziness of a family-run business. The egg dish served as an appetizer has a comforting taste, and it pairs perfectly with Asahi beer. The assorted grilled chicken skewers are fragrant, and I enjoyed everything from negima (chicken and green onion) to heart, cartilage, and tsukune (chicken meatballs). Seasonal fish are also available, and the mackerel sashimi is refreshingly delicious when eaten with soy sauce seasoned with pepper.
