A historic eel restaurant in Tsuchiura with over 100 years of tradition
Komatsuya is a long-established eel restaurant founded in 1916, located in front of Tsuchiura Station. It is renowned for its carefully grilled domestic natural eel, prepared using traditional techniques passed down from the first generation. The eel is steamed before grilling, resulting in a fluffy texture and exquisite flavor. It has been loved for many years alongside tsukudani, and the eel rice boxes and takeout bento, which are designed to remain delicious even when cooled, are also popular.
