The Red Skeleton Key was inspired by an old key that can open all the doors of a farmhouse built in the 20th century found on the William Chris estate. This Texas wine is crafted in an approachable style that invites everyone into the world of Texas wines, focusing on making it enjoyable for everyday occasions. It has rich aromas of ripe fruits reminiscent of strawberry and blackberry jam, with a hint of cola essence. There are pleasant notes of mint and cocoa, evoking images of mint cookies, resulting in a refreshing and well-balanced taste. This dry, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is packed with fruitiness yet possesses a refreshing forest-like quality, making it very easy to drink and versatile with various dishes.
This elegant white blend is a tribute to Mary Ruth, the beloved matriarch of William Chris. Without the love and support of Mary Ruth, who is the mother of one of the founders, Mr. William Blackmon, Bill would not have been able to cultivate the first vintage of these Texas-grown grapes. It is filled with fresh citrus and floral aromas from Malvasia Bianca, with a pleasant fruitiness that spreads across the palate, and a mineral feel and structure from Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon adds a nice weight and honey-like texture. It pairs excellently with dishes such as oysters, white fish with citrus, and herb-roasted chicken.
