Top 5000 on the food log, Umeno Sushi is the most popular sushi restaurant in Hakodate. The owner of the restaurant, who opened his restaurant in a residential area where tourists do not come, has been winning the hearts of Hakodate residents for 50 years since his predecessor. He is particular about purchasing good seafood before it goes to Tsukiji through his own routes. The sushi, filled with thought, will make you sigh continuously. We were told that taking pictures is not allowed at the counter, but since there were only regulars there, we were allowed to take a few pictures. The price was about 17,000 yen per person for what you like to eat and drink. Although I had some reservations about the service, I was impressed by the ingredients, the rice, and the care and thought that went into the preparation of the fish. If I decide to visit Hakodate again, I will definitely make a reservation for this wonderful sushi restaurant.

All of the food here is delicious, but I visited because I heard that the appetizers are especially amazing. The near-rare lamb polpetti is impressive and delicious. The green pepper pasta is different from peperoncino. The main course of beef was as tender as roast beef. The wine is available by the glass, so feel free to enjoy it.

店内はカウンターとテーブルと小上がりがあって、ゆったり座れます。入るとすぐに暖簾の先から活気が伝わって、スタッフさんも明るくて感じがいいです。握りはうにやいくら、あわびなどが出てきて、ネタがどれも新鮮でした。巻物も子どもでも食べやすくて、ぱくぱく進みます。海鮮グラタンや〆のビーフシチューなど、思わず笑顔になる一品もあって楽しいです。外観は少し個性的ですが、席はすぐ埋まるほどにぎわっていて、地元に愛されていると感じます。
