For dinner on a night of sightseeing in Kagoshima,
We made a reservation for a weekday opening time and visited the restaurant.
I was concerned about the peculiar smell of incense in the restaurant, which I had seen in other reviews, but it did not bother me during the meal after the restaurant was fully booked. It was acceptable.
The clientele was mostly businessmen-male pairs and groups who seemed to be on business trips.
The menu we ordered was a choice of grilled yam with salt, in addition to the famous momoyaki & chicken sashimi.
All of them were fully flavored with the aroma of charcoal.
The chicken sashimi goes well with sweet soy sauce. The amount of chicken sashimi is just right for snacks.
The yam was a new experience with a hojicha-like aroma and a good salty taste that you won't find at other izakayas. I liked it.
The grilled momoyaki was chewy and hearty, and even two people would find it a bit much, so be careful.
We paid the bill as we were full after only 3 dishes.
I think it is a good cosmetic restaurant. I am glad I visited.
