No~, it was so delicious ^_^"
I had heard from a gourmet acquaintance that Okou was delicious, but I had no idea it was this good! I was surprised to find it this good! Located near Kuden on the Kamakura Kaido Road toward Kamakura, the restaurant has a parking lot for 15 cars ^_^.
Wagyu Beef Kalbi Set Meal (1,370 yen) + Half Tongue Kalbi (350 yen)
Let's start with the tongue rib.
I have never heard of this part of beef, but I guess it is generally considered to be close to the origin of the tongue. I thought it would be eaten with lemon juice on the table, but the waiter recommended a spicy soy sauce-based sauce, so I started with a piece. The beef tongue is very tasty, cut meaty with a good texture, and the spicy soy sauce sauce goes well with the beef tongue and makes the rice go down a storm. It comes in a pack of 5 pieces, so if you visit for lunch, it is a must-have!
The main dish of ribs is beautifully sliced, almost ideal, and the visual alone is enough to make you want to eat rice (laugh). The cut is thick and when you hold it with tongs, it feels like it's a big piece of meat, which is also my favorite.
The thickness of the meat allows me to grill it rare, medium, and well done, and I was able to fully enjoy the difference between each.
By the way, the set includes rice (free refill), miso soup, kimchi, salad (with French dressing?), and a mix of Japanese and Western dishes. Coffee or apricot bean curd is served after the meal.
With the quality and quantity of meat and the contents of the set, it would probably cost about 2,000 yen in Tokyo. I am sure I will come back again.
