Only a few bottles are available each year. Depending on the season, various types of Juyondai sake can be enjoyed. Plus 12 is a number that represents the sake meter. The larger this number, the drier it becomes. Generally, when it exceeds 10, it becomes quite a dry sake. The price is considerably reasonable compared to regular junmai sake, giving a strong sense of value, yet the rice polishing ratio is at 55%, comparable to ginjo sake. This is a carefully crafted cloudy plum wine 'Umeshu King' presented by Oimatsu Shuzo. Utilizing the techniques developed by the brewery known for its authentic shochu 'Enma' and 'Okoge', this bottle is made with luxurious base spirits and ingredients. The base includes rare vintage sake brewed in Showa 44 and blended with 3 to 5-year aged barley shochu stored in oak barrels. Additionally, the plums used are carefully selected large, ripe Nanko plums. It is a cloudy type that preserves the richness of the fruit's flesh, offering depth in both appearance and flavor. The aroma is sweet and floral with a delightful plum scent. The mouthfeel is soft, characterized by a refreshing taste that is not overly sweet. With an alcohol content of 18 to 19 degrees, it is slightly higher but smooth and easy to drink, making it enjoyable on the rocks or straight. This is truly a product worthy of being called 'the King of Umeshu', allowing you to savor the umami of the plum and the depth of the aged sake simultaneously.
