Was ist Japan?: Japan’s dining scene is often described as a dialogue between seasons, craftsmanship, and regional identity. From sushi, tempura, and kaiseki to ramen, yakitori, and wagashi, menus tend to highlight clarity of flavor and careful presentation. Travelers may notice distinct local styles: Hokkaido’s seafood, Tohoku’s comfort stews, Tokyo’s soba and modern interpretations, Kansai’s okonomiyaki and kushikatsu, Shikoku’s udon, Kyushu’s tonkotsu ramen, and Okinawa’s island influences. Many venues emphasize dashi, fermented seasonings such as miso and soy sauce, and precise knife work. A tradition linked to tea ceremony hospitality is said to shape the understated service and attention to detail found in many dining rooms. Street-side counters, casual izakaya, and refined multicourse experiences coexist, encouraging spontaneous tastings and planned outings alike. Seasonal specials, chef’s selections, and collaborative pop-ups appear in various neighborhoods, suggesting a food culture that balances heritage with ongoing creativity.

Hi, I am a small basket hunter!
This time, I went to Din Tai Feng! I have been to the Ebisu one before, but this is my first time to go to this one.
By the way, I wanted to go to 101 in Taiwan, but I couldn't...lol...I'll go to the real place someday!
Lunch set with a small basket and handsome shrimp noodle
The small basket is rather small, but the soup is filling and delicious! The shrimp noodle is salty and refreshing! I never get tired of it!
I can't get enough of it!

A hot small basket!
I went to Asahi Seimei Hall to see a live performance of Sandwich Man on this day.
It was before 20:00 when I finished the show, and I drove there...
What shall we do for dinner? my partner and I thought.
After much thought, we decided to go to Takashimaya!
At Takashimaya, if you spend 3,000 yen or more, you get 2 hours free!
That's a lot of money just for food and drink!
Takashimaya's food and beverage zone Namba Dining Maison is located from the 7th to 9th floors.
Each floor has its own concept.
7th floor: Familiar dining
8th floor: Casual dining
Value dining with pride of tongue
9th floor: Hospitality dining
First, wander around the 7th floor ... and then take a quick look at the 8th floor and try to go to the 7th floor.
I told him, "There's also the 9th floor! I told him to go to the 9th floor, but he said, "I have to be worthy of my status..." as he rode the escalator downstairs.
I knew he would say that.
In the end, we decided to enter a Taiwanese dim sum restaurant from the 7th floor!
I ordered a lot of things, but I think I ordered a lot of rice dishes (lol).
Sanlatang soup - 630 yen
Thick soup with pepper? Pepper?
It was delicious!
Three kinds of small basket (pork, crabmeat, scallop) 1,050 yen
The package is marked with a mark so that you can recognize it!
The pork was delicious, but the crabmeat had a bitter taste!
Chimaki with pork - 567 yen
The freshly made chimaki was authentic and the glutinous rice was sticky!
Fried rice with crab meat - 1,365 yen
This was super delicious!
It has crab in it, tastes like crab, and is very tasty and dry!
4 pieces of glutinous rice dumplings, 588 yen
The glutinous rice was a little hard.
But I was satisfied with the volume!
Yaki gyoza with shrimp and chives: 6 pieces, 945 yen
I ordered this when I saw the person next to me ordering it!
The shrimp were delicious, but...
The shrimp was blinny and tasty, but.........
I didn't have anything to drink.
We were given a pot of jasmine tea to start with, so that's all we had!
I thought it would be a little more expensive since it was on top of a department store. I thought it would be a little more expensive.
But surprisingly, it was only a little over 5,000 yen!
The soup was not full of soup, but it was very tasty!
Personally, I enjoyed the fried rice!
Chinese food is delicious after all!

Minato Mirai [Din Tai Fung
I went to Din Tai Fung for lunch for the first time in a while. During the summer vacation, there was always a long line and I stayed away from Din Tai Fung for a while, but on this day I was lucky to get in easily.
I chose the "Noodle set with bean sprouts and shredded pork with starchy sauce" since I usually have only the standard fried rice.
The small basket of noodles appeared hotter than usual!
The noodles were also well covered with the starchy sauce and I couldn't stop huffing and puffing 💦.
My body was warmed up and my stomach was full. The food is always delicious, no matter what you eat!
Thank you for the food 😋.
