Experience the Terroir of Shiga with a Stunning View and Irori Cooking
This long-established ryotei, founded in the mid-Edo period, has been renovated to offer a serene dining experience alongside breathtaking views of the Setta River's Karahashi Bridge. At the large irori (traditional sunken hearth) in the center of the restaurant, naturally sourced ayu (sweetfish) from Shiga Prefecture is carefully grilled over binchotan charcoal, resulting in a crispy exterior and tender interior. Dishes that highlight local vegetables, Setta clams, and Omi beef pair perfectly with carefully selected local sake. The leisurely moments spent around the irori captivate both tourists and food enthusiasts alike.
