Like yaki-gyoza, like sui-gyoza... There are many gyoza restaurants in Motomachi area. I like them a lot. I've always wanted to go on a gyoza ladder. Since I came all the way to Kobe, I went to Gyoza University to have a quick gyoza before going to the main course... Unfortunately, it was under renovation. But there are many other gyoza restaurants! Among them, we visited Hyotan, just a short walk from Motomachi Station. It is a small restaurant with only a counter. It is not suitable for groups! The menu is 7 gyoza (dumplings) for 370 yen This is a gyoza restaurant, so there is nothing else to eat! That's all you need! Take one portion each with your friends! And for drinks, we'll have oolong tea... I'm not a beer drinker... The dumplings are slightly browned and a little transparent. Kobe people eat them with miso, right? It is prepared on the counter! First of all, I was surprised when I ate it! It's more like sui-gyoza than yaki-gyoza. Right in the middle! The skin is soft and fluffy! The filling is more like boiled bean paste than baked juicy bean paste. It is light, but when eaten with miso, the richness is neutralized just right. If you don't put miso on it, it might not be as good as it should be, to be honest. But it's a new texture and interesting! I would like to come back to this neighborhood for more gyoza! What kind of dumplings will we encounter next? For now, let's get revenge on Gyoza University!
